I picked up my copy of Red Steel and I can confirm that windows cannot read the disc. Nero info tool just says there's no disc inserted

Well maybe you should have said had more followers then. The gamecube, being their most recent console, gives a good indication of nintendo's current console followers. Which unfortunatly is rather lacking compared to the Xbox and Playstation 2 sales. In terms of numbers there are not that many more Xbox units sold, but when you consider how late microsoft entered the market, and how they had no prior console fans it's actually far superior to nintendo.
Don't get me wrong, when it comes to handhelds nintendo (rightly) dominate. But in console terms they're the turtle in this race.

Agreed. I was however talking about Nintendo the entity. Not any one particular console. Also, just because Timmy hasnt owned a Nintendo product since the N64 or SNES doesnt mean he favors Nintendo any less. Just the word Nintendo conjurs up so many memories (and for most of us good ones) for so many people young and old, that its hard to deny their staying power. Nintendo as a brand is unbeatable. Ok... so maybe people havent killed in the name of Nintendo yet, but I think the Next-Gen Crusades are just beginning.
I think this IS relevant considering the Wii will play NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube titles. We're talking 25 years of gaming... now THAT is a legacy.

If nothing else you have to respect Nintendo's willingness to innovate. Something that is sadly lacking in the videogames market in general.

Brings up some very interesting points.
Check out the content, and read some of the posts.
I had completely overlooked one of the items...
For all the PS3 touters... Think of the cost to the devs...
1.) HD graphics take a shitload more time to do... you need more detail, etc etc.
2.) Want to take advantage of the PS3s potential? shitload more coding.
3.) Devkits are a hell of a lot more (Those with gamecube ones only need a few addons...)
etc etc.

Well graphics should'nt be limited because devs can't be arsed to put the work in. They charge enough for 360 games already (£50 over here) so its not as if they aren't being payed for the extra work they have to put in. Although I remember hearing the 360 is easier to code for then the PS3.

the ps3 is harder to develop and code for, the 360 is easier and microsoft offer a great deal of support to the devs,
on the other hand, the ps3 ethos on user created content is more open ended and so there will likely be alot of user created content.

Zelda been reviewed many times over. 9/10 is the lowest grade.
Seems to me that the wii is worth getting. Check the video review at ign. The guy talking i shit but they show bits from the game and it looks fuckin' sweeet!

Now 8.8 is the lowest score...by Gamespot no less. Anyone else read through this review and come to the conclusion that the site is no longer one to be taken seriously at all? Especially in comparing scores of 360 vs Wii games?

Now I have not played the game yet myself, but going from others experienced conclusions on the subject(average of 9.6 from other reviews) I have to say something is amiss. Especially when the game gets dinged for not having orchestrated music and voice acting And because of the Wii's weak output on the built-in speaker. Since when has a game received a lesser score because of console limitations?
Also, Perfect Dark Zero got a 9.0 on the same site. So in Gamespot's iinfinite wisdom, we should all be enjoying that POS game to this day, and avoiding this classic.
Anyways enough from me, just wanted to share this further proof video game reviewers are worthless mofo's who should be shot for being paid to write biased drivel.

 Read gamespots review for Gears of War... game gets a pwn score but they all mention things that should get this game a 7 the highest.
Also read the AOE3 review.

Yeah i noticed the Zelda review this morning, deciding which games to pick up tonight (zelda, rayman, *maybe* monkey ball) and thought that was very, very odd considering the accolades it has recieved from quite literally everyone else.
