@ginge51
Aren't you even embarrassed even asking? What is wrong with you?
With all the truely needy people, charities, fun raisers out there why should people give money to you. Get a job, and if you still can't afford it get a second job like everybody else.

Christ if you've been laid off shouldn't you have received redundancy. Buy your own graphics card.

When I needed a new GFX card i started my own little bussiness for it.
But guess what... it didn't get me just a GFX, it got me a whole computer + lots of stuff.
Be creative dude... you'll get the money if you will really want it.

It's nothing special.
I started a small bussiness with a good friend of mine. We fix computers and teach people how to use the computer (usually old people). Since there are alot of old rich people in my area that want to learn how to use the computer, it becomes a good money source.
@Dazz - Not everybody is like you m8. I hope the red lights district got better :/

No that counts as a wise career decision.

You can always turn tricks like Dazz. I heard he made lots of cash last week when Skid and his pals came over.

Was it easy finding a new job. How is the job market for welders back east? |
Well, its not all that hard.
But its not like i found the job. This arab dude i used to work for a few years ago started another shop and called me up asking me to be a supervisor. Good money, better people.
I dont start for a week or two so i get a little vacation
Wasnt happy at my old place...dickhead owner

Thats awsome. You said before you were going to be looking for another job. So many people talk about it but in the end they kept working day after day for the same loousy boss. |
nah. Im qualified and have almost 15 years experience with welding and fitting and steal working. And im still a 'young' guy when it comes to the average age of ppl i tend to work with. Plus i work hard and im a hands on type of person.
Some people have a hard time finding a job in steel fab shops and stuff. There's alot of people who are 'weldors' - people who only know how to pull the trigger you know? Lots of uneducated idiots...not that im educated.
The new job is pretty boring stuff, but on the whole, its better for now.
Ive been thinking about going to school for underwater welding for quite some time now...from what i hear, the scuba lessons and the welding underwater lessons cost a ton of money. But, im afraid of sharks

@syco
In Canada, which is where I assume you will be working, we don't really have man eating sharks that I am aware of. On the west coast it only happens with a super warm El Nino and then as soon as the current dies down the white tips die. They get washed up on the shore very infrequently. Not too sure about the East Coast. Undersea welder may be one of those jobs that are in high demand and working in the states might be a strong possiblity. Good luck there. I personally won't worry about it. Just don't put blood in the water and you would be OK......

Well, Ive never been to the ocean...but still, it gives me reservations.
When I go swimming in a lake, pond or pool, I know whats in there. There could be anything in the ocean and with my luck, every weird thing would happen to me.
And really, Ive never trusted fish. My brother had a fish bite his pecker when he went skinny dipping at our cottage one time...ever since then, i wear underwear when i swim in a lake with fish
