1a.What are the characteristics you look for in a woman/man?
Besides honesty, trust, fun ...
Basically it is about completing each other. So my need for always being in time can be completed with something more laid back.
On the other my rather ultrapositive view on life may be pulled back to a realistic plane by some pessimist.

1b.What traits make you really happy?
Being open for new expieriences and people (not in a sexual way though) Wink

2.Are you willing to make compromises or do you like to stand your ground?
Usually Compromises are a good thing - but sometimes i stand my groud untill hell freezes over.

3.Are looks really important to you? (“Would you still love me if I were purple?”)
In some way. It does not have to be a supermodel type - but some eyecandy is not wrong. Wink

4a.Do you prefer an introverted woman/man or an extroverted woman/man or the other way around?
Extroverted women - see 1b.

4b.Why?
1b.

5.Are you willing to overlook any physical flaws (third nipple/tiny pecker/cigarette nipples/warts)?
Nobody is perfect. So yes if they dont are reaaaaaaaaaaly disgusting.

6a.What quirks attract you?
A nice giggle.
6b.What quirts repel you?
Not accepting that she/he is wrong (sometimes).

7a.Is sex really important to you?
I think I could do without - still i would miss it.

7b.Would it bother you if you were in a relationship for three/four weeks/months and you still haven’t had any form of intercourse?
Happend to me - my gf was abroad for 3 months. SO no biggie.

8a.How is money important to you?
As long its enough to live a proper live.

8b.As long as you two are together or as long as you two have everything you ever wanted?
Neither - it a completly personal thing.

9.Do you believe in one true love?
Not anymore. Still that question reminds me of a Hewy Lewis and the news song *hummming/

10.Do you believe that once after you’ve found your one and only true love that you two are bonded for eternity? (“Your two souls will wander through the void of eternal abyss together forever and ever and ever and ever and ever”)
As a scientific type of person - No.

11.According to you and your surroundings (Media/Friends): is true love replicable?
Hmmm. No. I think.

12a.Is love important for happiness?
Its nice to have but not a must.

12b.Can you be absolutely happy even when you’re lonely?
Without a gf - yes. Absolutely lonely - no.

13a.Are kids important?
In my opinion thats the whole point of the love thing - hence our existence.

13b. Kids or Amazing sex every night for the rest of your life? (free Viagra pills for when you grow bald!)
Kids. Period.

After you’ve been with a person for a prolonged period of time and you feel that the relationship is ready for the next step… how do you go on about making sure that the other person feels the same way without sounding hesitant?
Im not making sure. I just asked my gf to get engaged - YAY ! Wink I usually hit her out of the blue.

And how do you know for sure that you are completely ready for the next step?
You never know - you feel it.

Just my small humble opinion but you guys should discuss the existence without kids part. Sometimes it doesn’t happen and treatments (also expensive)don’t always work. I am sure you 2 are smart people and probably have done that.

From your answers it seems she has a really great guy. Congratulations
@tRanSwarP

Congratulations on your engagement!!!!!!!!!!

@pistolshrimp

thanks for the pink elephants ... (That rhymes !) Wink
and the compliments Wink - my ego is just skyrocketing ...

(Yes you read right)

and the existance thing ... at university im studying philosphy as a minor subject Wink
I could dig out Platon, Aristoteles, Satre, Kant and many more ...

But still philosophy often tries to find a answer to that purpose of life thing on a more individual point of view. Still from a biological point of vire i think the purpose of relationships is eventually reproduction Wink

Thats a really tough question.
So Ill try to be as honest as i can.
If the whole family thing just could not happen, i am really not sure how i would react. Although i think i could do without having my own kids - i think i would really consider adopting a child.

It may not be your own on a genetic level, but you could still try to pass on your worths, values and your way of thinking. In my opinion passing on my genes is not the only important point in life.

Maybe the term reproduction was too biological. Even if you are in a situation where you could not get kids no matter what you try (not even by adoption).
I think in this kind of world - and not only in this world - you live on even if you only leave some impressions on people just by having met them.

So this could be another purpose in live (i never said there was only one Wink ) -
Leaving things behind that influence the generations after you - even if the influence is only miniscule, there will be something left to prove your existence.

And btw, not pistolshrimp and elephants rhyme - - but thanks and elephants - though i admit not very good Razz
