Haha I noticed this also. I find it quite amusing and created a thread just for him in the useless void! An appropriate location I thought!

Thats the problem with downloading games all the time, they lose their value and as soon as they get even slightly boring you don't bother with them any more because "hey, you didn't pay for it so who gives a fuck". The curse of the chronic leecher.
I can't remember the last game I really enjoyed a game that I downloaded. But i've enjoyed alot of the games i've bought. There are two reasons for that:
1. I make sure I research a game fully before buying it.
2. Because I bought it I make sure I get the most out of it, I give it more time.
I love my 360 and i'm glad I bought it.

Hmm The problem is:
Game designers/writers/artists etc.. are on the whole a talented bunch of people, thier artistic flair needs an outlet.. which they USED to vent on pc/console games.
however.. we are now in the 21st century.. a time full of 13 year olds who cannot read/write or do simple maths..
the most powerful country on earth,(which also breeds the most gameplayers on earth) is also the most violent and warlike.. A place where you can shoot someone for stealing your skateboard.. but woe betide if you question the existence of god!
I kid you not fellow Nforce readers.. this strange and intellectually backwards place does exist.. and unforutnately a lot of our (otherwise) intelligent bretheren from Europe, adhere to this 'backwards' view on life and society in general..
This leads the game designers to put thier brain power aside and give the majority of the game playing public what it covets! for lets face it.. these designers are in it for the monetary gain.
so what do you give a race of warlike, tyrannical ,flagloving,Mcdonald eating morons?
you give them: a feeling of justification and selfworth.. to reach this simple goal.. you design endless games making them into heroes and 'peacekeeping self rightous semi inteligent soldiers' for the majority wont actually be given the chance to murder innocents in Iraq, or whereever they decide looks the easist target next..
I realise i am rambling.. but when i see a thread bemoaning the lack of 'intelligent' 'creative' 'different' etc etc.. games.. think to yourself who the majority of game players are.. and you will realise.. the games most of us long for are totally beyond thier intellecutal capacity..
hence why 90% of games are written by americans for americans... a bit like a mother gorilla peeling a banana for her baby..

there is lack of imagination
there is one sheferd that made psyconuts(somthing like that) and grim fandango
he got what we need but now he stop making games because ppl dont want to risk there money on somthing new.

Damn people, how can you get bored of games just because you download them?
I've been downloading most games for a long time now but I still play almost every one I download until the end and some of them I play again.
I am yet to buy even one game on the x360 (I will pay for Dead Rising though) and I have burned about 13 games on the x360. I've played them all to see that they works and then I started with Kameo, played through it and then went to the next game and so on. Only took a break from the starting line-up I burned to play Dead Rising then I will be back to finishing the others.
Same goes for my PC gaming. Well of course, I don't just leech any shit game there it, but the ones that seems good I download and play. Mostly I get to the end unless the game turns out to be crappy.

I have the same disease unfortunatly.
Even if i buy games i get bored of the very fast except a game and a sim that i keep getting back to which are Flight Simulator and the GTA series. besides that i havent played though many games in my life.
Played through HL2 and Kameo the last year or two, and played some Oblivion when it came out, but as time goes by, it's not that interesting anymore.
I have never played through a game more than once and after kompleting a game it gets it's place with the rest of the "dusting" games.
But Flight Sim and the GTA series i still get back to.

as for myself i also think i suffer from this lil disease.
i leeched these games to my pc:
halflife 2: played till 3rd stage.. deleted.
need for speed black: played for about 20 mins.. deleted.
hitman blood money: played till 2nd stage.. deleted
flatout 2: tried one single race, tried one destruction derby, tried the minigames a couple of times.. deleted.
that and many others. i think it's a VERY situational thing for me since the games i've downloaded for my ps2 tend to last a LOT longer.
completed RE4, dragon quest, shadow of colossus, MGS3 + subsistence and god of war among others. i still regularly play tekken 5(huge fighting fan) pro evo 5, guitar hero, KH2 and when FF12 arrives i'll leech and play the shit outta that one .
dunno if it's a mere coincidence that leechers get tired of xbox/pc games. afterall most of the games are direct ports and/or the same types we've seen over and over again.. the longest game i've played recently on the pc was oblivion but even that got boring after 1-2 weeks.
i'm deadsure the spirit for games will wake up once the wii and ps3 have been released. |
Me feels the same , just got the used gamecube with Viper chip for 50 $ and I am having a blast!
RE4, RE 0 , ZELDA....

Hahaha, I recently got a cheap gamecube aswell, more fun with those games than any of the downloaded ones or those on xbox, have just sold my 360, will get a Wii in a month I honestly don't care if some microsoft exec believes it to be 'just gamecube with a dvd' my modded gamecube has a dvd and i'm getting the wii anyway.
It just seems to me the games on a "lesser" system is more about gameplay than fancy graphics, incidently thats also how it used to be on computers when gamedevelopers didn't have fancy hardware or api's at their disposal.

ok i have been in the scene for 20 years owning pretty much every console since the atari vcr , every console i have had i have played back ups onj and 2 months ago i to got an xbox 360 premium and hooked it up to a bravia 40" and played it in hd, i also purchased the originals of PGR3, COD2 & GRAW, now i play them every night on live and love every minute, the best thing in the world is playing the games on live this is shown in the fact that after 2 months i have not even touched the single player games yet as i am hooked on the online carreer modes on the games i own. i take it that u are not playing live and there for not getting the true benifits of the xbox 360. Buy the originals, support the devolopers, sign up to live and start enjoying the real gaming world.
As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

Actually many ppl have said one of the greatest benefits of the 360 is indeed the online mode.
maybe i'm just an oldschool single player fanatic since i found nothing interesting about the original xbox and of course the 360.. my bro has an xbox with literally every great game released on the box and i didn't find anything mildly interesting (except for ninja gaiden and of course halo 2) that i couldnt also play on the pc.
perhaps it was because i was expecting variety like with the ps2 and not multiplayer capabilities.. lets face it.. the ps2 was pretty much a flop with its online mode but holy crap the single player experiences were priceless.
The 360's current lineup of games doesn't exactly scream epic single player experience either(although i wouldnt mind trying dead rising).

I'm even bored of the games I rent let alone download. I rented hitman shitmoney for a week and it didnt even enter my 360 tray not once. I rented Prey and played the same level I already played once in the demo and took it back.
Saints row was the first game I really waited for and it let me down with its performance. I bought the PS2 just for GTA3 so you can imagine the importance of good gta-games. Now saints has gotten boring so only Gears is worth waiting for again.
If the 360 wasnt such a solid product with demo downloads and arcade, mp3 playback during games etc great features, I'd be a little disappointed.
I think Gears is do or die in many ways.. it either finally starts the next-gen with proper force or puts it on hold until Xbox3 and PS4.
