@Werder
Naw, I don’t leave stuff on the bedroom floor. Only empty water bottles. I will take a picture of my bedroom later when I make my bed. I only make the bed when I am having people over. It is one of those good bed things that just look nice but you can’t really use.

@waldo
I don’t think I have a serta mattress and I don’t have satin sheeeeeeets. Somehow I don’t think I would like sleeping on something softer than me. I will leave the satin/silk to syco.

If the couch is good enough for me then it is good enough for him. I have had that couch for about 10 yrs now. Anyway he can sleep anywhere he wants too at night as long as it is in my room. He likes the floor tho. He could sleep in the bed if he wanted. My other dog/wolf liked to sleep in the bed. She was 140 lbs and took up the whole bed.

I am actually a very messy person at heart. It is something I have to work on. Take a picture of your room Mr. I am so much better than U Laughing!!!

Letting your dog sleep on a ten year old sofa is inhumane. Christ. I bet you buy a new mattress every two / three years. But a sofa? Why buy a new one? Right? It's for the dog! Right? Sad

Tsk Tsk Tsk Tsk Tsk!

140lbs? Wow. Fattening a dog so you can have a proper feast, eh? Are you that witch from Hansel and Gretel? I bet you are! I BET YOU ARE!! EVIL POSTS AMONG US!

And yeees! I am better than you! At least I have the audacity to have a dirty bedroom when I invite people over! I DON'T HAVE TO HIDE UNDER A FLOOR THAT’S MADE UP OF SHEER LIES!

LIAR! LIAR! DECEIVER! FRAUD! CON! LIAR!

I believe you when you say you like a spotless house. Every German person I have ever known is like that. I think mine is OK. It is hard with a shedding dog. The hair comes out in clumps. My draws are messy tho. I just throw everything in there if I can. Everything of my ex’s was always folded tho. Socks were always organised according to color.

@waldo
My sofa is good enough for me it is good enough for him. You better watch out. He is a loyal dog and he will bit your ass if you are mean to me. I can’t afford a new mattress every 2/3 yrs. Why are you being soooooooo mean to me Razz: *cries*

Laughing Can't afford a mattress! HAH! I buy a new bed every two years at a garage sale. Right now I'm sleeping on a foldout sofa I bought last year. Hah! I never turn it to a full sofa because it's a pain to unfold. Laughing

Anywho your dog must be loyal! He gets to sleep under your roof! Other dogs get a doggy house in the yard and sleep in it even when it’s raining! So he must be loyal else it’s the backyard and I don’t think a domesticated canine can survive these horrible winters of our wonderful nation called Canadia! And of course he has to protect you! WHO ELSE IS GOING TO FEED HIM!

I think my mattress is maybe 8 yrs old. I bought it new. OMG you buy beds at garage sales. That means they are used. Sofas are ok at garage sales. Mine is ready for the dump. That is the family room sofa. The Front room sofa is a different story. That one cost a lot and the dog and kids are not allowed on them. My dog has a better life than some peoples kids thinks me.

ya our winters are mild. I don’t bother with a jacket most of the time.

I thought I would post these pictures of boats just for IpwnU. He has boat envy. Actually I think he envies a lot of things

I have never seen so many big boats cruising around before. 90% were American. I have come to the conclusion that the educated Americans leave the country. They were unbelievably nice. My girlfriend and I got talked our way onto 4 boats. “you say the bedroom is right there?, humm, I just can’t picture it.” Then you get the grand tour and a wine refill.

We brought lots of booze. White wine for afternoon, Red for the evening and Wild Turkey,Carolans and we had this Yagger-mister stuff. Vanilla Rum, vodka and lots of weed. I had a pretty good beach buzz going by about 2 pm. Sun tanning, book reading, crabbing, fishing, drinking.

Look at our stylish Yellow booties

Here is a morning picture of the South side beach on the day we left for Insect Island.

Going to Insect Island (There were not many insects on Insect Island)

Insect Island was beautiful. It is a old Village site Of the Kwakwakw’wakw native band. Not much of a beach but you can sit on a outcrop of rocks. I fell off the ledge while crabbing. 10 foot drop. I sorta stuck on the rock a bit and just sorta slipped down into waist deep water. Water was really cold. I caught 4 rock crab there and we ate them. Plus I baked a choc. cake and we ate that too. Everybody was shocked because I caught them using bait box with a whole bunch of slip knots and the crab gets tangled in it. Crabs like t-bone steak fat and smokes. It was so quite there in the mornings. It was like being in a vacuum.

Part of our campsite

I went for a night paddle by myself. A bit hard because I have a double so I stuck a hatch cover on and threw some water bags in for weight. You get pushed around a lot and it is heavy for one person. I used my headlight but after I got out there I turned it off and just drifted. Everything was so dark and you can’t see the waves so you just kinda go with it. It is really trippy, especially if I herring ball surfaced, sounds like breathing.

Then we left that island and looked for a new site closer to Telegraph Cove. We had to stop at the Kwakwakw’wakw native band reserve for water.

The dock where we tied the boats.

Picture of Kawakwakw’wakw IR land.

Picture of some of the Kawakwakw’wakw kids (No I can’t pronounce that name but I think the w is silent) There were really cute. This one is sliding down the dock on a life jacket.

More happy cute kids.

We were told they had a well. We thought it was a bad sign when we arrived and everyhouse had 8 huge bottles water on their porch. We went to the band office and one of the guys told us the well was salty. He let us fill up with bottled water. I got to meet this elder guy and he yapped about native art and symbolism. He told me shamans on the pacific north coast don’t cut or brush their hair because that is where all their power is. Kinda interesting. You should of heard what he had to say about biting.

Then we continued on our journey. This was a 8 hr paddle day. Hard to find a good site but we kinda carved one out on Hanson Island looking out into Blackfish sound.
Crossing Blackfish sound was cool. Maybe a 2 meter sea with some chop. Blackfish sound is where the Orcas hang out. We were told that there were about 130 transient Orcas in the area but we didn’t see them. Lots of seals, River Otters, Salmon jumping, dolphins. Saw some more Humpbacks, saw about maybe 4 black bears. You can hear them.

Hanson Island is pretty big. Big enough for a couple of Bears and a few wolves. Lots of deer too. We I landed I walked into one and it freaked out and I thought it was a bear. I just knew it was something big. Then I saw it was a deer. This deer wasn’t scared of me at all. It just continued to eat kelp. I got maybe 8 ft away from it. It was a stag with velvet on it’s antlers. It was pretty big for an Island deer.

Stupid deer moved his head.

Lone boat at night.

We missed 2 ferries. Holy Crap that ferry service has to improve. We missed 2 again on our way home. We we arrived there the line up to get back to Vancouver was all the way outta the gate and way the hell up the road. Maybe 2 km up the road.

I got home at about 10:30. My parents stayed at my place to look after the dog. My sister and her boyfriend stayed over a couple of nights too.
My sister is awsome Very Happy: I wanted a cold beer really really bad at the liquior stores are all closed at 10:30pm. I open up my fridge and I found 8 cold beer waiting for me. I then found a note on the counter saying "Jackson check out the frog". I go into my living room secret stash frog and look what I find!!!!!!!!!!!

@Dazz
Thanks ya bastard Very Happy

i fkn hate deers, i have to hit the brakes almost daily to not mow them down. stupid animals...and about once a week i see a deer running through the front lawn of our house, i just sit outside for a smoke (i dont smoke inside the house) and those stupid animals run through my front lawn, completely ignoring me...i gotta get myself a rifle and have some deer sausage..."OH MY GOD ITS COMING RIGHT AT US!!! o that is class

so how was your jaunt pistol .. horrible ? seems like you have only given what you did .. what you saw .. what about how it was ?

Looks like the weather treated you ok .. but it all has an emptiness about it .. to my eye .. were you happy back in the stix ? Or was is hard .. did it remind you of too much .. or did you have to cut off & thus came back feeling like it was a wasted trip ?

I'm guessing here obviously .. spill it

@werder
To keep the deer's outta your backyard go to a hair dresser and collect people hair. Stick in it in a nylon pantyhose thing and tie it up around the yard. Deer hate the smell of hair.
I wouldn’t care if a deer went through my backyard.

@Hfric
aaaaaahhhh Please don’t make fun of me!!!

HDR Not really my fault.
I had to use a automatic water proof camera and I can’t adjust any of the settings. I press the button to take a picture and there is a 3 second delay. It sucks. Then I got some kind of grease on the lens and didn’t know. I love my digital camera. Soo much better.

How can you guys not know what is in the frog. I am not going to tell you.

@ChinUp
How is this for spillage?

Wasted trip? NEVER

I loved it. The weather was great. Overcast every morning but it always burnt off by about 1pm. No rain.

It is hard to explain. To me it is a spiritual experience, it grounds you. There is a natural rhythm out there and everything you do revolves around it. It is so beautiful it haunts you. Sometimes the best times are when I just sit and watch something. I watched a seagull swallow a starfish. It took about 1 hr but he finally got it down. I love the sound the bald eagles make. You can hear their wings when they fly by. Everything, water, trees, animals, has a presence and if you just sit there long enough you can totally feel it. Maybe I read too much West coast mythology.

I loved my night paddle. There were phosphorescence (sp) that night. It is a microbe that glows when you disturb the water. It causes all the ripples in the water to flash and glow. A big wave or the wake from a boat lights up the ocean. The water dripping from the paddle forms little sparks of light. It was so quite it was eerie because it was so quiet.

I have a crab obsession. Every trip (10 years worth) I try to catch crab and I fail miserably. Well I caught 4 and everybody was shocked. One of the guys bought me a dungeness after one of the last trips as a joke. The inside of my leg is black and purple from falling off the ledge. Even though I got hurt it was still funny. As long as I am not gushing blood and nothing is broken all is good. Laughing

Our group got along really good too. My girlfriend is one of these women that likes the finer things in life. Only drinks certain wines, shops at certain stores. She is flies to New York and Hong Kong 2-3 times a yr (big Shanghai Tang fan) to go shopping but she can rough it with the best. I have practical use for stuff like that but I think it is good to know. The guys are hilarious. We listen to the VHF radio/coast guard and they get turned on by the weather girl. “barometric pressure 101 and raising”. They like it when she says ‘raising’ and they like the way she says numbers. They are really good at guitar and I played a stick. I hit a log every 15th beat. Too much Wild Turkey and Ganja that night.

I think this is the perfect place for a beginner to go if they talked to someone who had already done it. Some of the pretty strong currents, tidal rips. You have to be pretty stupid not to know they are there. You can hear and see them in the distance. They look and sound like a river in the middle of the Ocean with rapids. They can be really fun if your boat isn’t fully loaded. I went out to Johnston straight where the swells were. surfed off some boomers. I fucked up on one and flew outta the boat. Fuck that water is cold. I had to paddle 1 hr freezing my ass off to get back to camp. Good old hot chocolate and Carolans to warm ya up.

It was a little to protected for my taste, no real challenge. Smooth glass like water is beautiful but it can get boring very fast. I start to get itchy. I like the west coast better. It is more rugged, craggy, more sea caves, burial sites. Not as much boat traffic either. The water is to ruff for the real luxury boats. Most are boston whalers and fishing boats.

I know you were only teasing about the photos. Honestly I was disapointed when I got them back. They aren’t the clearest pictures either because my hand shakes when I press the button. It is really hard to press, plus with the delay.

My friend took her digital so I hope those ones are better.

Take a really good look at the frog. It is not salad but it is grown indoors and out.

Yep that about sums it up how I feel out there. I am actually thinking about moving out there. I think working at a resort (these are not fancy places) there or perhaps buying a place up there. I am going to check out MSL later and see what is advailable. I think I will stick to the west coast tho.

Chinup gets the prize for the frog. How could you other other guys not get that?????? It was a nice dence bud with lots of little brown hairs on it. And where was Syco for this one? He would of got it. (he doesn't feel good right now)
