I am so buying this tomorrow! Do I need to have the original HL2 installed to play or is it a stand alone expansion?

provision is having problems with their emu.. valve updated something and now they need to code new stuff into their game launcher... thats that they said on their ircd..
and yes it was true they got the game playable before the actual release date (seems the encryption system suckz0r)

Commentary is deffo better the second time through because for example (not the exact words) but one commentary track pretty much tells you what's coming up, and why it's there etc. Fair enough that's fine. But what's the fun in telling us a drop ship is going to be destroying the attic when you can experience for yourself after, and then go to a commentary node and hear WHY it was there etc.

Eny one more then me taht cant whatc the trailer for ep 2? I just get a black screen. No worrys just found it on youtube so I seen it but i want to see it in game to.

Here's a question and I think I know the answer.
Has there EVER been a major release that didn't have at least two fakes posted w/i 48 hours of the "actual" scene release?
I'ma thinking, "No."
