What is the next gen AMD-Intel ? processors, been searching but its really a jungle
If you want the coolest most kicking ass gaming PCU after the MS Vista launch ( Jan-Feb 2007) what to go for ?, what is in the pipelines etc ?. Any link to articles would be much appreciated.
I guess that it will be very hard to pass the 5 Ghz barrier without a enormous risk of overheat, I believe that the next chip generations will focus on maximizing the number of cores in each chip and also, 128 or even 256 bit architecture.
The Intel conroe really seems to be a good core coming. dual-core of course but finally Intel has been focusing on more power per Mhz and not just greater number of MHz.
I think thats what the "next gen" CPU's will be about.
yeah apparently intel decidd to stop sucking. Both their Yonah and Conroe cores kick major ass.. Anandtech had an article in which a home-enviroment level conroe processor kicked the fx-60's ass..>< Twas sad. But I won' be buying a new motherboard and such just for conroe.

not sure what crack your smoking, but i want some.. 64bit isn't even being used yet, let alone pushing it further, there is no need or point. As for the heat issues, due to the new intel arch being based on the laptop based chips the heat is being greatly reduced..
Conroe is the way to go, its going to beaaaaaaat everything's ass for the time being anyway..
The only thing strange with the anandtech look at the conroe is that its compared to an "intel overclocked FX-60"... So if you look at the numbers in it you'll see that the "intel overclocked FX-60" performs LESS than the original non-clocked FX-60...
