You need a sound card that supports 5.1 Wink

you need a sound card with a Digital Audio Coaxial output. There are many out there and they are not at all expensive.

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one

S-Video.. is.. well for video Wink.. as for installation there are plenty of ways depending on how you want it setup and what AUDIO connections the dvd player has.

I take it that when you say DP 1800 you are refering to the Norcent DP1800 DVD Home Theater System. I couldnt find exact specs (Didnt come up in google right away) so im not sure what inputs the system has.

Here are your options, depending on the input configuration.

1. Well to get 5.1 audio from your PC you either need direct inputs on the DP 1800 (6 rca inputs that can be used at once; if that makes sence) These will be mini connectors from your Pc (Walkman jack size) to regular RCA connections on the DP 1800. Assuming you have 3 mini outputs on your PC.

2.For Dolby Digital 5.1 you will need either an optical digital out on the PC and in on the DP 1800 or the standard Digital cable connections on the PC and DP 1800, (Cant remeber if its coax)

Other than that you may have to run it with just Dolby Pro Logic, via only 2 RCAs. Simulating your surround.

Hope this may help.
