Heya!
My computer started failing the POST test a few months ago, I sent it for repairs and it came back last week. The so called "technicians" concluded that it was either: the motherboard, the memory or the harddrive that was the source of my problem. This computer is about 2 and a half years old, it's a Dell Dimension 8250, and I've never experienced any technical malfunctions with it at all (until this happened).
The reason they couldn't determine wether the memory was soley responsible or not is because they couldn't find any memory that fits with my motherboard. I had 1gb of RDRAM/RAMBUS (PC1066). And i've already found stores that carry this type of memory, but it's really expensive so I thought I should get some oppinions on wether or not it's the memory that is responsible for this.
This is what happens when I turn my computer on:
A second after the power is on the Pc starts beeping frantically, I've had no luck at all finding out what the "morsecode beeping" is claiming to be wrong. I downloaded a list for a Dell bios POST beeping, but couldnt match up the sound to anything. When i remove the memory, and flash the bios and boot my PC i *think* it's the same beeping.
What would you do? would you buy new memory?
any and all help is appreciated!!

Don't waste money on Rambus... get a new PC instead. Rambus is a thing of the past, plus they are fucking cocksuckers taking patent on others work and claims royalties for it...

Is your rdram build by Samsung or Elpida? Both offer lifetime guarantees. I would contact them for a replacement.

Thanks a bunch for the replies, yeah, If I had the money to replace my PC I would, RDRAm is way to expensive considering what it delivers. Yup, it's Samsung, I didn't know they had lifetime guarantee on memory, thank you so much for the information, I will contact them right now, thanks again!!
