you should get the book I am reading right now. “The RIVER” Edward Hooper (I mentioned it in another thread) (1999) It is proposing that AID’s was a result of a early polio vaccine made from the renal tissue culture of monkeys/chimps (don’t remember which ones) being tested in Africa .
“Presumably, someone in rural Cameroon was bitten by a chimp or was cut while butchering one and became infected with the ape virus. That person passed it to someone else.”
That theory is discussed and rebuked in the book. The book focuses on the ecological aspects concerning past exposures in populations. Lots of talk about statistical relationships and disease agents, Stuff right up your epidemi alley.
Definetely sounds like it would be up my alley although @ 1000 pages, it would have to wait until my latest read which is going to take forever.
It seems that not everyone agrees with Hooper though ... have you seen this article before? It was from the journal Clinical Infectious Disease, and basically refutes Hooper's arguments ...
Thanks for the link I printed it out for later. Since my book was printed in 1999 I think its considered out of date with the newest of theories. I feel out of the loop now.
IRL i like discusisng with women and men but mostly women but i can talk to them without waiting 15 minutes or whatever for their response if you what i mean
