Happens occasionally still.

Does anyone else have the following problem?
Sometimes when Im browsing the forum, I get a call and have to step out for 15 minutes or something like that. When I come back, allthe topics that were listed as having new posts are all greyed out and I cant tell which thread has a new post and stuff....it times out right.

Is that intentional or no?

Some more info..

Code:
 $sql = "SELECT topic_id
         FROM " . TOPICS_WATCH_TABLE . "
         WHERE topic_id = $topic_id
            AND user_id = " . $userdata['user_id'];
      if (!($result = $db->sql_query($sql)))
      {
         message_die(GENERAL_ERROR, 'Could not obtain topic watch information', '', __LINE__, __FILE__, $sql);
      }

From the functions_post.php..

My guess would be its a thread issue, being that the thread in question has for some reason not been put into the "topic_watch_table" correctly.. It has been meantioned that the section of code above might have the TOPICS_WATCH_TABLE part misspelt in some releases..

*shrug* just guessing as i cant see the code lol

Syn, dont bother. phpBB is just a wierd piece of code. It spits out 'fatal' errors even though it drops a spoon. I filtered out such stupidity if i bumpped into it when i was doing the hacks, quite a few still lurking around i guess.

OpenSource is the best IMO. Mostly its developing fast and bugfixes are frequent... Not that I have used phpBB that much but my overall impression of opensource is that there should be more opensource apps... Very Happy

Well, this is the reason why there are so many double/triple/quadruple posts all over the place, and people not bothering to delete the multiple ones when it's still possible.

So how about you mods start doing your job and delete them? Razz
