There are modern tools for this. AI powered anti-cheat and some other successful tools. Battlestate has proven time and time again that they are quite incompetent when it comes to this or other long-lasting issues.

1.0 went live today. Servers are getting hammered of course.

Oh that's why the game has 34% mostly negative score on steam, because it has no issues plus the fact that the peak of 22k slowly but surely declined till now to 13 k and still going lower.
Yes no issues for sure.
Why release a game on a weekend that needs servers to work if your max player cap is 22k.
If it was temporary the login servers would be up already and ppl would playing/cap would keep rising.
As far as forum posters make it out to be the devs arent famous for communicating or making sensible decisions but rather just censoring posts and sweeping things under the rug.
If really so: welcome to steam.

You do realize the steam playerbase is probably a minority at this point? The real player count is prolly way more than that of steam alone.
But yeah, only issue I had was when I took a break and started game again it took like 5 minutes to get into menu, after that it worked fine again

Minority or not, having mostly negative reviews with almost 10k reviews proves that plenty of people on Steam have issues with the game. Who knows how many outside Steam have the same problems? Nikita was bragging about being prepared for 500k people, I have my doubts the game reached that.
Arc Raiders launched with over 200k people in the first hours and you didn't see people leaving negative reviews in mass related to servers.

According to who?
There is a reason why they put the game on steam now and why the game didnt have any issues before today.
Acting like an extraction shooter that has a following and is known wont attract ppl (imo more ppl on steam) is insane.
There is a reason why ubi, ea etc kept crawling back after abandoning steam.
Plus the devs had an announcemnt in the launcher where they wrote themselves that there are indeed launcher and game server issues.
But keep fanboying. "I dont have issues so no one should have issues" LOL
