If you haven't seen Strange Darling from last year, I enjoyed that. Well made with good acting. But not a horror.

weapons 7.9/10 loved it, bit slow but not too bad, great actors, memorable, well written.

very rare with horror of this class! Not as good as Substance, but body horror of that quality im not even sure i've ever seen. Just to compare with something recent for horror.

If there's one thing that absolutely has gotten miles better (in comparison to early 2000's and before that) is the quality of acting in movies, its actually super rare that i can complain about it, even though maybe dialogue or story is absolute trash in many new movies.

Substance was horror? Shocked

To me, it was dark humor. Indeed, very dark, but still.

well, its more leaning into comedy than most body horror, The Fly for example is mostly just depressing.

I finally watched Godzilla Minus One. 7.5/10
That was fine cinematography and plot development, and all this marvel for the tag price below 15 mil USD.
My only peeve with this movie is the same for majority of other Asian movies: the actors emote their characters as thou they are still manga/anime characters, and not live action adaptations of those parts.

The Long Walk 5/10
I found it disappointing. The ending made the entire thing pointless too.
Didn't realize who the Major was until the credits Laughing What a chameleon Very Happy

Caught Stealing 5/10
Feels like a director's debut, a wannabe Tarantino/Guy Ritchie flick. Then I saw the name of the director Laughing what was he thinking...

The Master 7/10
Excellent performances, but not my favorite Paul Thomas Anderson. That is still:

There Will Be Blood 9.5/10
First rewatch since I saw it in the theatre back then. Still amazing, one of the best movies ever. Daniel Plainview is such an mesmerizing character

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

The Long Walk 4/10.

Just a casual stroll with friends. Couldn't care less who died. Seemed like A24 should have made this instead. Hyper implausible. Hundreds of miles/km and barely any sweat, talking all the time with hands in pockets. Always a surge of energy available for sprinting, jumping or whatever, when needed. A movie for the modern audience that demand very little.

For anyone expecting this to be thought provoking, exciting, riveting, intense or gory (any one of those), don't bother.

Long walk, The 4.5/10
It was boring, and the suspension of disbelief for the complete irrationality of this movie's alternative history premise wasn't working for me.

I watched it on fast forwarding or even skipping all the bla bla bla among the characters.
When it looked like one of the kids was getting into panic/anxiety I'd slow to regular speed and watch like 30 sec before anxiety attack and 30 sec after he is inevitably killed for the reaction of the rest of teens on his death.
I think I was thru within 25 minutes.
When it finished I checked the plot on wiki. With my speedy way of watching I picked it all it seems.

Weapons - 8/10
Love these kind of movies. Reminded me of Drag Me To Hell.
Silly stories with lots of gore.

But I must say that the drug addict played his role pretty good. The scenes with him was very good.

But that's kinda the point, it's about the question, not the answer.

I wonder how much Kaitlyn Dever got paid for this role Laughing

I give it 6.5/10 due to the fact it was basically almost identical repetition of the same scenes with only revelation who the president was.
