u just go to vatican and it appears as a new sidequest
finished the dlc and was okish...more of the same...they said rome but u spend more time in the sewers and has more emphasis on puzzles....was expecting a bit more for the hype it got
The numbers on Steam are more or less in line with Machinegames' previous outputs (with shaka bra Youngblood being the black sheep, rightfully so), but yeah, Micro$oft likely cares more about the so-called level of "engagement" coming from their stinking services. It would be illogical to expect the Indy brand to have a bigger pull than it did, considering all the questionable stuff released over the years, the latest movie's box office results and the fact that the new generations care little about the franchise.
As for the game itself, I didn't find it remarkable in any way, though it has some qualities and does respect the source material which is not too common with licensed titles.
• it's slow - immersive-sim like game (a dying breed of games for today's TikTok ADHD slaves)
• not much action
• story is being told slow via journal entries and exploration + puzzles
• puzzles!!!1111 - people DON'T want to think anymore, they just want quick rewarding with no effort
• stealth is simple / subjective - some like it, others say it's too simple or boring
• doesn't innovate with anything in terms of gamplay
• it's a game made exclusively for fans (you CAN see the details they put in - from Indy's gestures, way of speaking and tons of other details that you will see ONLY of you are a big fan and watched the movies LOTS of times - like myself)
• Shirley's letter from the initial chapter says it all - you NEED to KNOW the movies to get and appreciate it
And also:
• gaypass*
• high price on Steam
Playing now the ISO version. Feels like I am in another Indy movie and I am the protagonist.
It's... good, I guess. I do appreciate the details that make the world, but probably almost no one else does so... yeah... 900 players on Steam.
*gaypass is rental for mindless consoomers and poo... I mean ensl... I mean normies, so I personally don't give a fk. They might have 10000 players on, but they DON'T OWN shit so doesn't matter.

I believe the main reason is that it's a below average game. I paused at the end of the Rome level as Kingdom Come 2 came out, and I never looked back. I do adore puzzles, and I do love stealth. And this game just didn't deliver in both aspects. Stealth is super simplistic, way worse than MGS Delta, and that's still a PS2 game at its core. And when stealth fails, you enter even more simplistic combat that involves punching people. With the first alarm, all enemies in the vicinity immediately start a pathfinding pilgrimage to your location, and you need to dispatch them one by one in a dull and repetitive fashion, that often involves some gamey exploitation of mechanics or bad AI. World and exploration are nice, but then all the quests and side quests are just dull. Side quests are especially just an afterthought. Pointless collect-athlon of the worst kind. I guess that puzzles are the best thing about the game. But everything around them is so dull, that I'd much rather play a walking sim with puzzles than force myself to have a go at this game again. Add piss poor performance, forced raytracing, and you get a poor overall experience.
The first area was pretty cool, but it shows everything the game has to offer. Afterwards the ideas are just recycled with an average story at best and an ending that's probably stupid even for Indiana Jones.
Saying this is "immersive-like" sim when the game is designed with a checklist of objectives assisted by markers is quite a stretch.

He just gave an extensive opinion on the game based on 40 minutes of gameplay, like a true gaming journalist.
Unlike you kids... I simply don't have the time anymore to play any big title that releases nowadays.
So, unless I find myself playing the SAME game I've played before (because 99% of NEW games are copy-pasta), I NEED to be very selective with the games I choose to spend time with.
ALSO, there is the question of mood...
Sometimes you want to bang things up quick, other times you just need the beauty of a landscape to chill you up.
Childish response fitting for someone whose only path is to spread their bitterness.
If you don't enjoy something why do you keep on coming back, this is such a disease on the forum, obsessive retards shitting their useless rant in every thread, repeatedly not even with an IMO attached.
Yeah well said, the question of the mood, which you're ruining at every given chance. Just let go man, why not spend that time... you know... playing a game you like instead?
Seems far fetched huh? Anyway, gaming threads have taken a fucking nose dive with this pseudo-political bs
