You know lots of people have ate it in the past. I don't see why you're all so disgusted by it.
I'm pretty sure it was 'the norm' back in the day too but has since fallen out of fashion. I personally think it's horrible too, but he's not weird for wanting to do it really.

Hehehe! When I had my daughter my husband now he's a big guy. I squeezed his hand so hard I swear he had a tear in his eye. Of course it could have been an emotional moment for him.

It's not weird at all, some countries consider it to be normal, obviously no one is eating it fresh and bloody, rather they dry it up good, grind it to a pulp and make capsules out of it that you can swallow like medicine.
But I only heard of female doing it, since it supposes to help them overcome Postpartum Depression, male got no use for it, it would be pointless for him to consume it at all.

Really, wich countires, according to wiki not too many actually eat it.

I believe in China eating the placenta is rooted in their traditional medicine practice for helping the mother.
And 'very few' means that there are cultures which eat the placenta customarily.

How healthy could it be to eat something that is a "filter" ? . We used to eat lot more liver awhile ago but now nobody eats it because it is full of toxins (plus it tastes like shit) I bet if you ate it cooked it would destroy any of the good stuff in it anyway.
