Well it took me about 80-90 hours to play the game to a point when I said "time to start again" as I was running out of quests and stuff. Probably missed something as the game is so big, but what the heck. Started with a new character and its like sorta playing it from scratch...well not realy but it for sure feels good to have another 90 hours or so to look forward to Razz

Yes I agree it's ultimately a let down - Gothic 3 still has by far the best looking/realistic landscapes. The fact you have few hotkeys for most actions means constant clicking which sucks. Graphics with HDR are nice but nothing special. Like the rest of the series, M IV feels fake & boring. Not buying into the hype Smile

you agree in oblivion is eye candy only and also saying "Gothic 3 still has by far the best looking/realistic landscapes"

so basicly you say gothic 3 will be crap

The NFO was lost when the Server went down some days ago. The game is probably the best RPG EVER MADE! if your in to that stuff that is.

I'm into that stuff yea, but I like real RPG's so Oblivion is a pass, I might even throw my copy away.

Gothic 2 was a much better experience directly out of the box when compared to Morrowind. However, while Gothic2 remained static, the world of Morrowind was brought to life with hundreds of high-quality mods, allowing the player to customize his experience and radically change gameplay mechanics, graphics or any other aspect of the game.

Now I do not know if Gothic3 will allow user-mods and provide a construction set like Oblivion, but if it doesn't then there will be a repeat performance between these two RPGs.

Already there are several dozen mods that change the game from its virgin state and the static world of XBOX360, and this will only accelerate once the exporter is released.

I guess it can get out of hand, since I spent more time downloading mods than playing Morrowind, but its fun.

Thanks for those mod lists. One question though, do i have to start a new game to use the forementioned mods?

I installed the LOD mod .... Made a nice improvement to the distant terrain.

I tried the BTmod, but I didn't see anythng different. Either I put it in the wrong location or I need to tweat the config files first. The readme wasn't clear on where to put the files.

Oh, yes - please re-read the install notes again - you won't be able to live without it!

They are just XML files, but must be placed in the proper directory - please try again.

same here, I constantly use "charm" on ppl to increase my level.

thought this game was too tough. Every fight is like an epic battle demanding many, many quick saves. 70 hours in and I've finally remembered I put the difficulty level up when I first started Laughing Back on normal now, and the game is so much more fun Cool

Well i didn't change the difficulty and i overall think it was too easy, maybe i should have put it a bit higher.

Yea its a small quest, took me aprox 20 min to complete Sad . You have to get back some Dwarwen Artifacts to the Arcane Library, when done you will get a new spell... not much but at least something. I would never ever pay for this and I think its realy crap that they charge for theese small "Mods" couse that all they are.

Thx for the info.

Apparently (read on the official forum) , people who've legally bought the addon have problems to download or activate it... Rolling Eyes

It seems to be linked to the activation protection : i can't understand why they're protecting their small (useless ??) addons while the main game wasn't protected (only dumb ISO check)

They're really ripping people off with these pathetic addons. You probably won't be able to tell the difference between these and the mods that'll be coming out in about a month.

I don't even understand why they need an activation key, the installer is just an auto extractor which you don't even need. Surely once you've paid for it and have it extracted you could distribute if freely anyway. Doesn't make any sense to me. And the people paying for this shite are the idiots who will only make other developers follow the same route.

The game becomes more and more interesting as you level up. More magical items, better spells/armor. At least I feel it better. Maybe because my friend is 40+ level and I have already seen the good stuff you get.

So the balancing mods will remove the auto-levelled loot and monsters and create random occurances of monsters of many levels and loot that is sometimes rare and which does not match your level.

i am playing it through without the level/balance mods and will try next with them. morrowind did not have auto-levelled loot and so you could hit the jackpot or find useless stuff despite which level your character was
