THEY KNOW THE LEGACY of this game, so the questions are:
1. How can they engage in a project that is clearly a downgrade in function, form and fucks-given (FFF) compared to the almost legendary status of the original?!
2. Their GREED and IGNorance are THAT high?
In the reddit thread above it's mentioned the TCR wanted to change the name of the game to distance it from the original but Paradox is banking on brand recognition.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
Which is weird since the mainstream doesn't give a shit about VtMB. It may be my favorite game, but it didn't exactly do great on release and it's just another cult classic. It may be a great game, but it's not exactly a huge draw.
The "Key" to understanding the strategy behind selling this game is in the "Departure" chapter of the above video.
Paradox's plan:
• How many OLD players / gamers played Bloodlines? Not that many, so fuck 'em!
• How many NEW players can we get to buy this? With proper marketing, A LOT!
• No need for this to be a true sequel, because there is no need for that. We sell this to NEW players!
Not even Fextra-dude played the first game... He's into RPG content, so that's saying something.
