I tried it again last night. The game's too chaotic, it's like BF3's indoor Metro map but even outdoors now. There's absolutely no need to worry about dying, death comes from all angles all the time, fuckin' UI icons and shit all over the screen and the lack of a server browser is cheap.
Weapon reload speeds are hilarious, the whole movement system and everything else feels exactly like Call of Duty
And what good is destruction if entire things can explode, collapse, scatter around you with no weight to them? A whole building next to your head combusts like the power of an atom bomb, and it's like a bit of confetti brushes against your eyelids.

BF2/BF3/BFBC2 still reign supreme
I agree... Die - Spawn - repeat.
I never did like the 3rd person view the vehicle players get either.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
Well I had a lot fun with the beta. Outside of the usual Battlefield launch bugs and shitty netcode. I got shot countless times around corners, seeing teammates with no heads etc.
It was a good time, It's moving in the right direction in my opinion. I'm looking forward to next weekend.

This happened to me a few times but not nearly as much as in previous BF (pre)releases, also I was very surprised about the excellent performance that the game is showing at this stage, seems to be very well optimized, around 5 and a half CPU cores (11 HT) taken advantage of properly and very high GPU usage % almost constantly FPS and frametime stay generally "synced" and stable at 90 fps+11-13 ms, more than enough for me and my puny Ryzen 7 3700X + RTX 3060 Ti combo with most settings maxed out (except for GI, sun shadow and volumetric quality all set to just "High").
Anyway, looking forward to next (long) weekend as well.
After the early struggles with the controls and mechanics the game felt much better the more I played it. On default HUD is a bit too busy in my opinion. Gladly it can be reduced at each detail. Definitely worth checking out once it has been released.
pc. Upcoming OPEN BETA will start this Thursday at 9 CET. No keys will be required so anyone will be able to join.

I'll be surprised if they won't add Operation Locker 2.0 and Metro Remake in the future, they'd fit the modern meat grinder-y style like a glove
While the two urban maps in the beta are somewhat reminiscent of BF3's Aftermath (but even more hectic since the game itself is twitchier), Liberation Peak indeed felt like a map designed by someone who has never played a Battlefield game before and just arranged the layout with no logic so that both infantry and vehicle combat are gimped. My favourite maps were the bigger ones from BF2, BF3's Caspian Border/Firestorm (plus the Armored Kill DLC that few people played *sad panda*) and the tank-oriented ones in BF4, so it was awkward to have three "open" places that don't actually allow for any organic play. I reckon some proper maps will be present in the final game, though my interest in online shooters is so little these days that trying this beta for a few hours already feels enough.
We're continuing work on the issue that players do not see DLSS / DLAA in the Battlefield Open Beta. We currently don't have an exact ETA for when this will be fixed but we are still aiming to have this happen later today.
We will update you as we get more information from the team!
At least I know why my performance tanked compared to last weekend. My 3070 can't keep up anymore without DLSS.

That's weird, what resolution are you playing on?
I have a 3060 Ti and getting nearly constant 80 fps @1080p (I've capped the framerate in-game) and solid frametime with most settings maxed out except for 3 or 4 of them turned down from Ultra to High.
I've been playing since week 1 of the beta with no AI upscaling technique enabled, and DLAA enabled separately (changed it today to FSR AA because of this bug).
