World building so far is okay, the combat is really good once you get used to it. Levels have been pretty linear for me, one main road and small side roads to dead ends/mobs/loot. I dont suffer from the performance issue that people bitch about, I guess none of them updated to the newest drivers. AMD 7700X + Nvidia 4070.
It's fine. Mostly linear but there's a good amount of shortcuts and the like. Exploration is mostly limited for extra loot, but that's ok for me as I don't generally like open world games. It's more like DS1 in that regard than the other DS games, in that the areas seem to be interconnected so far and you open up routes, but it isn't as open as DS1 at the start where you can choose which way to go first. However by the 5th to 6th hour there's a bit more option on where to go, so I suppose it opens up more. It's still linear design, but you can tackle bosses and the like as you want, and there's whole areas to explore, that at least so far, to me seem optional.
The one thing I don't like is the lack of jump, but I can live with that.

I think english va is correct as subs seem wrong though. The first npc you talk to say i should chill and lay low due to the soldiers, but subs say "your soldiers"..
I mean, I don't understand mandarin, and that's what I remember him saying that you need that I should recover in the temple and all that, so I don't know. Maybe I just naturally fixed it in my head when reading, without realizing. Honestly I can't say.
This game just isn't it for me. Played it for a couple of hours yesterday. Flat boring combat, muddy unpolished visuals. The English accent voice overs I found particularly annoying. I can't see myself playing it again.
IMO the game doesn't deserve such low steam rating, sure the performance is poo but that's a given with that shit engine but it still runs better than most UE5 titles.
I like the gameplay, combat is good and satisfying, it's somewhere between Nioh and Dark Souls.
Every aspect of the game feels polshed enough to be a really decent souls-like which is quite rare.
At the moment I'm at the female commander boss and I need a break as she kicks my ass mercilessly. It was quite easy to do other bosses in 1 or 2 tries, I think that the difficulty will be much higher from now on.
Not great, not terrible. So far the biggest detriment are environmental deaths. With game emphasising dodging in combat, it's really weird to have level design with so many ways to fall into abyss. Save points are also spare, and that further frustrates this. Regular enemy encounters easy so far, so it's not as annoying as it could be, but who knows if that will change later on. Levels are huge and there's a lot to find, but there's no jumping, or grapling, so exploration feels a little limited. Sekiro was a lot better in this aspect.
There's that UE5 environmental stuttering, but it usually goes away for combat, and is nonexistent in boss fights, since they're contained in arenas. As long as one is not at the limit of Gpu memory, it's more than playable. Not the prettiest game, but I really don't understand review bombing in this case.
People lost their minds with this game. I don't get why people just decided this was the one game to review bomb for performance, making up lies like they can run wukong with full ray tracing but struggle with this, when that is straight nonsense. This runs better than most UE5 games, even though it is, like all UE5 games unoptimized.
Wukong runs worse, Silent Hill runs worse, even Clair Obscure runs worse. I could go on, but yeah, it's weird.
And the game looks good. People complain about the graphics but I don't get it. There are some eh textures at times, but for the most part it looks really good at 4k with hdr. And it isn't a blurry mess like most UE games. I just don't get the excessive hate.
Same shit as always isnt it? Their favorite tuber hates it so they hate it too. Been like this for years. Its not a super good game for sure, but its performance is typical Unreal engine shit.
Afaik chinese hates it for cultural reasons. Read one post about how would be like it if we made a game in a western period where we only killed the good guys and didnt touch any bad guys. Also it was the deluxe edition fiasco where they gave everyone the items. Thats a dumb one. Shouldnt have taken the items back, its not the players fault.
I really like it so far, tons of locations to explore (I'm still in the 1st chapter), the combat is really fun and rewarding, especially when you hit multiple enemies at once
Most of all they need to fix the translation. Its incomplete. text said "guy was in love with a married woman and it was a tragedy" audio said "guy was in love with a married woman, he kidnapped the kids mom and it was a tragedy" there seem to be more thqn a few obvious ai translate mistakes
There are a few very idiotic things about this game.
Everything knows you down and you take forever to get up. Most of the damage from the damage completely interrupts you. On the opposite, you don't have the same effect on anything.
You can enter start chapter 4 before properly starting chapter 3 which can mess all the quests.
You drop 30cm, your character needs time to recover.
Anyway, Leenzee has also shared some gameplay tweaks and fixes that will be coming in the next patches. The devs will improve AI logic for monsters and bosses. This is a huge deal as there is one particular boss that has frustrated a lot of players. That boss is no other than Commander Honglan.
That girl is trouble. She's not giving you any time to use abilities and drink potions in her 2nd stage. On top of that, she's got near infinity combo if she manages to get you on the ground.
btw. game is getting a lot of flak for apparently forcing dlss in latest patch:
Yeah i put down the game on honglan. Other bosses were fun and somewhat challenging, but this one is just frustrating in all the bad ways. Cant even fucking heal without her insta charging your face.
Actually she is pretty hard. No Elden Ring boss gives you so little room to breathe, and no elden ring boss requires you to spec specific ways. Good luck on Honglan without cheese spells or block counter thing.
Elden ring feels a lot more refined, making it more fun to play. Temu souls is easy to put down.
I didn't use block at all against her. She gives you time to breath, even in the second phase when she can go spam crazy, you get chances. You just need to learn her patterns. You can even interrupt her abilities. She's hard, but I don't feel she's unfair at all.
No, but I really don't find her unfair at all. She's a big step up in difficulty as far as previous bosses in this game, but that is it. I've struggled with a lot of bosses in DS3 and Elden Ring. I'm honestly not that good at souls games despite liking them. But this doesn't play quite like a souls-like. It's far more discipline dependent and combo dependent.
I didn't use spells since I find them too weak, and I've just not even learned the block/parry since I know I'm shit at parrying in most of the other parry heavy games outside Bloodborne for some reason. But I'm decent at dodging so I mainly play with that. I use blink kick which interrupts her attacks if timed well than follow in with two light attack combo, and repeat till she's staggered, than nuke her and she's about 1/3 of her hp by that point starting her second phase. Than it shouldn't be too hard, just don't get hit to be knocked down.
Dodging is really emphasised in this game. Many attacks can't be parried, and it's main way to fill your abilities pool. So if you were good in Elden Ring with dodge builds, you'll be good here. I always preferred parrying and blocking, and they're both poor here. Many attacks can't be parried, and blocking is just useless, so I had a lot of trouble with that boss.
I got her with a spell build and running away all the time. Parrying her long range thrust attack in her first stage is actually very easy, you can be very early on it and it'll still trigger a counter. But I only managed to get a single hit after the counter. She just glitched through my other hits and hit me with one of her combos if I was too aggressive. I also wasn't pumping up my ability pool by parrying. So while I could finish her first stage fairly easily, I was completely lost for the second stage. I had to respect and go with single sword build. Dodging, running away, and spell that drains her health. That was the only way for me to win that fight.
I am considering to play this or first berserker Khazan After finishing Lies Of P overture.
Overture was a blast, but after finishing all the side quests, defeating Nameless Puppet on the highest difficulty in battle memories, more than once! (And final dlc on ng+ difficulty).
I feel like I am done with that game and time for something else.

I personally preferred Khazan based on the demo. My only gripe with Wuchang (admittedly, I haven't played much, as I am playing Rise of the Ronin instead, and I'm having a blast with it) is the apparent lack of block/parry. You almost exclusively need to rely on dodge.
I think that it's this games biggest strength. Levels are large and connected, but they're still directed and not properly open world. There are some underground sections, which are really the worst in the game, graphically and design wise. But most of the outdoor locations are really interesting, with a lot to do, with many shortcuts, optional bosses and secrets. Graphical design is also more grounded in realism. Sekiro had those massive castles, and fantastical landscapes. Here all is more toned down. It's still a fantasy setting, but dark, with more realistic scale to arhitecture. Trees and vegetation are random UEngine mess, though.
Story is also trash. I've no idea what's going on. There's some plague, and you have feathers, and there's a million random Xiang Xiangs that give you random quests that I've no idea what they accomplish.
