Everything is deemed worthy of criticism by those opposed to it.
According to some for example: Starbucks is worthy of criticism for saturating urban areas with too many stores. Poptarts is worthy of criticism for changing its recipe of the icing. Seter machinist pencils are worthy of criticism for changing the grip texture on its mechanical pencils. How I mow my lawn is worthy of criticism because my neighbor thinks I should do vertical rows vs horizontal.
Saying something is worthy of criticism is a non-statement. It's simply an opinion wrapped in conviction.
Edit..sorry I got stuck in my head making parody lyrics so I have to post them now :

TL,DR version: I dont want ALL my games to end up like the last of us 2/Saints Row Reboot or Battlefield 5.
If you dont get annoyed by them putting their politicial message/opinion in every game you shouldnt be annoyed by me
or similar minded to put their politicail opinion in every thread. As some of you mentioned there is nothing you can do about it. (besides the block button
Let's not act like there isn't a culture war going on that is ruing multimedia.
In countries like canada you can be jailed for using wrong pronouns etc.
How did it end up like that? Because people were complacent and all the companies and people did everything to virtue signal as is this dev.
Hey let's put 32 emblems/flags that totally break the immersion of this 70's sci fi game in.
A flag/emblem is a political sign not just a bumper sticker. That's why people get offended when you burn those. Maybe try it out. Go to a central place burn an lgbtq flag and see what happens.
In the steam community forums someone opened this topic and it went for pages and the first response of the dev was that theyfully support lgbtq and that these are the only flags that are unlocked from the get go and the others need to be collected. What a great virtuesignal/how brave. Later the thread got deleted instead of just closed. Guess they were afraid that they loose some sales.
I'm not annoyed by you. I can disagree with someone without disliking or being annoyed by them.
But times change, social changes pushed. No way around it. You fight for none of it in games, they fight for it in all the games. In the end its in some of the games. its how social changes from generational differences of social tides always progress. (or regress. Just depends on if you are the one already in the pool and acclimated to its temperature, or just coming in and want it changed).
To chicken little "All games become like this" is either ignorant, or willfully ignoring how every socal movement in popular media has played out over extended time to an end result be it movies, tv, books, social public activities, games, (even old games before Video games):
An over correction of saturation to start and extreme reaction and bold stances to that change (from both sides), then a leveling off where the change is too much for those that pushed to not want it, not enough for those that pushed to want it. But a medium area where both can go "This is...fine..I guess". And it becomes the new norm everyone is Ok with, until a new change comes then repeat.
It will be the same here the textbook definition of a conservative vs a progressive (I dont mean politically for those terms, I mean by context of the sentiment of a medium). The end result is neither totally wins the battle long term. And a 'palatable' to both, emerging result is found by nature of the conflict.

Of course. But this particular thing is such a sour thing here on the humps. So many pretend that it's not a thing, but they pop their veins like nothing else if it's mentioned, which means they're invested in some way or another. just common fucking sense to understand that much.
You on the other hand is not so much hostile, but you cannot, just cannot help yourself from going into endless debates every time something about wokeness is brought up. You're invested too in some way or another.
And some cannot help themselves from going into endless posts about where they found woke.
We all have our flaws.

And I'm not invested at all, unless you count an isolated closed system forum.
Literally the only place I talk about it is here. I dont talk about it with friends, anywhere else online, in general public, with family, or my daughter [specifically] as she would be "uber woke" to most people here. When in reality she's maybe a 4 out of 10 if we use the whole scale.
I'd be a 1 out of 10, if we have to use whole numbers. Maybe because the only place i do that '1' is here it seems like more?
The only time me and her ever talked about it, was when I asked her "Do you think Im woke?" in relation to being called it here.
Her response?: What?! No. I've never seen you do anything woke. If you call treating my transitioning friend as a human, and calling them what they want to be called, I guess? (And that's because that is the only name I knew them as to start with. I dont know their birth name. or dead name, or old name or whatever it is called.).

@DXWarlock Just ignore them and move on, this is a waste of energy, they are alt right and they are proud to be. We don't need World News 2.0 in here, it's bad enough people like Lametta constantly obsess all over any game about a secret government trying to turn them gay

I want to try/like the game. Survival games are my thing. But not sure if I would like one centric to being in a car. Would be like making a zombie survivor where 1/2 the game you drive your RV from town to town to just refill supplies.
Some people might think that gamestyle would be amazing. Don't think I would if I played it.
Plus I am not big on game story, and I (Think) this one is wrapped around it. Or at least a narrative theme progression.

But it only took a 1 min google search to verify a false claim from 2018 if I bothered I could fact check the rest too
Now can we please stop with this crap?
alt right? im not american and labeling everyone and everything alt right if it doesnt fit your opinion doesnt make you morally superior.Aren't you supposed to be more inclusive and diverse Guess your horizon is limited to your own country even on the internet.
Not everything is a war. Using that word only makes it seem bigger in your own head, not others you say it to.
Culture war, War on Christmas, War on Guns, War on Science, War on Plastic Straws
They are not wars, they are just the two clown cars flinging pies at each other passing all the normal people on the street going "WTF they mad and throwing pies for?"
But if you want to call it a war..sure, there is one going on. And it's been going on, on varies beaches being stormed since some people got older and newer people formed opinions. Nothing new.

Started it this morning, played roughly 1h, and I really like the visuals and mechanics so far.
Performance is pretty good on my end with my 3.5/4yo medium-range rig, no issue there so far.
Will comment again when I got a few hours under my belt, but this seems really fun so far

Is it more than the trailer looks like it is? Car Mechanic, Halloween edition. Being a bit facetious, but you know what I mean

I hope it's not just a hoarding game, and that it stays enticing after a bit.
But so far, I really liked the beginning, if just because there's no 30 minutes intro lore dump, no unnecessary exposition, you're immediatly put in the driver seat upon pressing "new game" and I like that approach that, with no idea what or why, this is your situation and you'll figure everything out as the adventure progresses.
I'll tell you in a bit, I'll pick it up a tad later when I'm done doing stuff.
Gonna play 2/3h this time, or at least do a full "mission" and then a bit, just to have a relatively good feel of what it's really all about, and what is has to offer.
BRB, then!

As I'm not scared by some sticker with bland colors I spend 8 hours in the game. It's a car mechanic gay simulator as the longer you play the more quirks the car gets and you can only fix it by fucking it in the exhaust pipe and put more and more BLM and trans stickers on it...
Joking but car mechanic simulator is a big part of it. The gameplay loop is to take a ride into the zone, scrap what you can, scan anomalies and drive away before the zone fucks you up. Than fix and upgrade your car or workshop. Rince and repeat with some story missions in between. You will be mostly doing runs for anchors because they unlock upgardes.
So that's it. Different parts of the map have different dangers even some close ones and stable can have anomalies that can fuck you up good.
The problem is - it lacks some QoL features especially "in mission save"and having to craft manually every bit and piece for more advanced parts. And well fixing the car is tedious especially when you don't really have the fixing putty or resources to craft one.
Sometimes you can't really know if you are affected by some anomaly other than you are loosing health.
And fixing quirks is stupid quessing game that isn't properly explained.
So you're mostly doing runs for anchor points that take like 10 to 15 minutes to complete. So I would say after 8 hours it's a 7.5/10 game.
Pro tip - research off-road tires asap.

@VonMinsk this is what I'm wary off: that doing missions is just a game of "get your vehicle from A through B, trying to salvage as much as you can, with the only serious goal of getting it less fucked than it was before that run"-type of game.
So far I enjoy going of the beaten path to find extra loot and such. But battling between loosing HP for reasons sometimes unknown is still puzzling to me.
And even though I admittedly spent but 2.5h playing, nothing really enticing nor novel is taking place.
Again, that's not a bad thing per se, but as I was afraid off, it might run out of steam before the car runs out of gas.
I'll spend some 2/3 hours again tomorrow or this week, and see if this can keep up.

I'm just glad that the Stickergate ended on fairly amicable terms (for the Humps standards), it was genuinely beginning to look like one of those last-man-standing modes but with no chicken dinner
Speaking of which, I was intrigued by the idea of a survival-based car game and the atmosphere/art direction is certainly strong here, but alas, its actual implementation got redundant pretty quickly for me. Since the initial (apparent) depth wanes just a few hours in, you're left with the barebones tele-hopping from point to point, artificial busywork and (non)driving model with boat-like physics all wrapped in a linear-ish mystery storytelling where radio folks indulge in squabbles over taking the dinglebop and smoothing it out with a bunch of schleem before pushing it through the ARDA pneumatube. Not quite my cup of immersive tea, though the game can be charming and of course mileage may vary greatly, also in a literal sense.
Maybe this should have been a VR-game instead. Doing minor tasks and such comes across differently in VR (if done right). Like needing to stop your car, pull the handbrake, opening the door each time you stop. In a 2D-game this gets tiresome quickly, but VR is better when it is paced slower, so it might work.
“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”
- Albert Camus
As I bought it and passed the mark to refund I forced myself to finish it. How this game has very positive on steam is beyond me. It doesn't even have a satisfing ending - it's just some "OMG feelings talking" about the voicover characters you never met. All you've done is meaingless, wearisome nothing. It has never went further than driving a car in stalker zone: "and what else...". "And I don't know...".
