Anyone tried Icewind Dale II EE? https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/87952/icewind-dale-2-enhanced-edition-is-released

A lot of changes but looks like you can pick and choose what you want when installing. I never played much IWD2 so i'm gonna give this a shot. Loved the first game, just a nice no nonsense dungeon crawl.

I was in beta, it's fantastic.

I think they're the first modders who managed to add something to the hardcoded UI, like a toggle for a new fog of war (it's blocky, but doesn't shimmer) and quickloot.

There's also tons of bugfixes addons and qol improvements, including the options to change or remove the most tedious parts (like the time travel puzzle in Dragon's Eye) .

Noice! How are the enemy/AI changes? Does it make the game a whole lot more challenging?

Yup, if you choose the right component you basically get something SCS like.
And you can change Heart of Fury mode from HP bloat to slight HP increase but with better tactics (heavy use of buffs and other spells)

Read the readme.

Sorry bout that. Link works for me.

I definitely recommend IWD1 if you like the infinity engine games and dungeon crawling. Far less city based quests like in BG, you make your own party so no party banter. Amazing soundtrack by Jeremy Soule is also a highlight. Much less grandiose storyline, not sure about the sequel.

I never tried the sequel so looks like im gonna give this mod a shot.

Thanks guys Smile

Love BG2 so i do think i would like it quite a bit. City based quests were never my favorite.

IWD2 is also pretty good since it uses the third edition with feats, proper multiclassing, etc. So the build variety is much greater. In my opinion it has the best combat among the Infinity engine games. Maybe only the SCS mod comes close.
