Saint, that is correct, but the other way is correct as well, it's all how people decide to use the terminology.

so if water freezes it turns into ice (stil staying h2o) and when it boils it turns into steam (still h2o)
so, wasnt really that stupid, but if you say ice = still water.. imo its still h2o but not water.
but hey who knows?

If you say H2O = Ice or steam in any chemistry class, you will be laughed at.
Water is just another simplified word for H2O. Dihydrogenoxide gets sort of hard to use in "general" conversation.
Steam, ice, etc. is just another form of water, it's the same molecules, though heated or cooled as to change the aggregation form(aggregationstillstånd in swedish).
This is of course taught in any basic chemistry class, so I suppose if you skip that, and use your subjective fuzzy logic, you can call ice whatever you want.
