I tried to play CR1 a few weeks ago from an updated version from IGG-games and set it all at "CAN IT RUN CRYSIS? OwO" and it went pretty great to begin with at the night beach area

....Except whenever you went to the open world SUN moment the game dropped FUCKING HARD AND IT WAS UNPLAYABLE..

I went and allowed the game again to re-set the settings to HIGH and....Poof, all goodie again.

Keeping the CR1 version for now but damn...Loading times could be BETTER...ON AN SSD!!!

You need to keep the cpu settings at medium, for max performance. Object quality, shadows quality and vegetation. Turn them to medium. All the rest that are gpu settings you can max out.

Though i wouldnt recommend the remaster version. It has the 2011 guted and neutered console gameplay, redesigned for controllers. All the values are changed for everything, weapon damage, enemy damage, grenades, recoil. Every combat scenario is redesigned - there are fewer enemies in the game and they're placed differently. More grouped together. For example, in the original you might have 3 packs of 2 to 3 enemies coming from 3 different sides. In the remastered you would have 4 enemies together in a single place. Values like more penetration for various weapons were changed so the enemies die easier and faster.

Its a very neutered and different game than the actual Crysis from 2007. The changes are almost all for the worse. The original is the one you want to play if you want to play Crysis 1.

People already experiencing 1000FPS on the menus for atleast CRYSIS 2 REMASTERED, causing both CPU and GPU to frigging overheat and reboot the PC or even BSOD (From the STEAM forums)

Fuck the "But can it run CRYSIS?" meme. Make way for "But is CRYSIS 1+2+3 optimized?" grinhurt

I don't know how fucked your configuration has to be for this to be possible.

Most likely, people force VSYNC off in their GOU settings, because cOmPeTiTiVe OnLiNe.

Yea, I never get the people that say a game/software/whatever overheated their PC or burned something up.
99% of the time it's an EBKAC error [error between keyboard and chair]. You either on purpose or by accident disabled all the safeguards modern PC hardware has since the last 5-10 years or so.

There has been cases of an application low level overriding something and causing those safeguards not to kick in, but it's rare.

I feel the same way about people that think they need a 4080 and 450fps to play a console game on computer.

Say whatever you want as you always do, but it being this easy to kill a GPU is not acceptable.

You wreck your car, when you disable the brakes and drive towards a wall. Being able to wreck a car so easy is not acceptable.
It's not the car manufacturer or quality of builds fault.

I am on the side with Stormwolf here, i dont have vsync on myself because gsync and now think about the causal gamers who is clueless and just boots up his game with his new 5k rig getting the gpu fried before he even could get into the options.

Most games have a limit for menus and stuff which should be a standard these days. The provided example with the car is a pretty bad comparsion.
Its the same with NVs new connector that is poretty resistent when plugging in and can result in damage which is unacceptable because not everyone is a hard/software freak that knows about those issues.

If the same would happen on a console would you then argue that they shoudnt have bought the flawed game in the first place ? Pretty narrow minded if you ask me.

But something must still be disabled the user turned off to allow it to beyond just vsnyc. I have it "off unless app specifies" and just turn it on in all games (I leave it that way for certain situations where off helps or testing overclock). But have hit 1000+fps on menus or loading screens countless times on countless cards in games that dont have it on ingame by default to start.

No if that burned up the console, they shouldn't be in the consoles deep setting changing things they dont know what they do.

Throttling aside, why would the gpu overheat in menus at 1000 fps more than it does at ~80 fps in game ? It just runs at maximum performance in both cases, I don't get it.

even if u are not exceeding them u still enable it and use a frame limitter to cap fps at what ur pc is capable of, same if ur framerates exceeds the hz u cap the frames a few bellow ur hz

It is right that you should use a fpscap when having more fps as your refreshrate.

StEFaN7 wrote:

Yet makes this statement false, gsync works without vsync if you are within range.

On my 165Hz Monitor i will never get more than 80fps in CP77 for example so there is no need for vsync at all !

gsync works = no tearings but frame pacing is bad if ur fps fluctuates too much, so u still cap the fps at a bit lower than that 80fps u say and activate vsync to get perfect frames times and such, vsync will not activate in any case, vsync with gsync is just to get the best frame times with lowest input lag etc. having a gsync monitor does not automatically make everything perfect, it just eliminates tearing
