we can scratch Relic off the list of devs we care what they're doing now. What a fucked up decision

Games don't just materialize on consoles out of thin air. They need to be designed for them. What this means is that every design and gameplay decision they made for this game is put through the lens of "will it work on the console version, on a controller?"

Every genre out there has a million small tweaks and changes in order to make them playable on pads. And RTS as a genre probably suffers the most for it. It's not important that it comes out on consoles. Its important that 100% there will be design decisions made for consoles that you'll see on PC.

They're again trying to capture this imaginary audience that doesnt exist on consoles for an RTS at the expense of the audience that does exist.

You might be wondering: How exactly is developer Relic Entertainment building an RTS game for Xbox, when historically the genre has always leaned on PC’s mouse and keyboard? Thankfully, Company of Heroes 3 Console Edition is being built from the ground up with console in mind with a wide array of new features that’ll make you the most effective commander on the battlefield[...]

Quote:
“Getting the controller layout in a good spot was a lot of playtesting and iteration on what felt like it HAD to be there,” says Fedorchuk. “We thought a lot about what actions players would be making most frequently, and set up units of different types to have their most commonly used actions readily available. It’s a bit like trying to predict future actions.”

They're confirming what i said above word for word, lol Cocksuckers. We have so MUCH data that this genre doesn't sell on consoles. At all. How and why did someone reach the conclusion that expanding the audience means making a console game ? jesus christ

This. I'm Not sure how people (especially on here) don't seem to realize this? I gave up on the genre long ago, but this decision certainly doesn't spell good things.

Make sure to buy 2 or 3.

It looks like the game is a masterpiece; you can sell those CE later at 1500% price...

EDIT

Also, get the console versions also!

I thought something must be up with his settings in that video, for the game to look that atrocious. But looking at day old videos from the test, thats how the game looks. It didnt look this bad when they announced it though. Terrain has the AOE 4 look. Did they went with the sterile look in their attempt to make everything very visible like they were obsessed to do in AOE4, but went too far ? Is this again their fetish for multiplayer people which represent close to nothing of their playerbase ? These guys make me wish i could somehow put my hands through the screen and remove their fucking obsession with multiplayer and player retention from their dumb heads.

Even on their forum, people want the game to be delayed

https://community.companyofheroes.com/coh-franchise-home/company-of-heroes-3/forums/1-general-discussion/threads/2992-in-your-opinion-should-the-game-be-delayed-one-more-time-to-be-improved?page=1

Edit:

Sad They keep fading away since coh 2. It's a shame they didnt experience the same upwards trajectory as C Assembly in the 2010s

I'm putting my money on them holding back on the graphics for some weird ass reason until release. It's bad PR so i have no clue why they'd do that, but no chance are they releasing this looking like that. It's atrocious to say the least

this seems like a rather low budget game but pushed as AAA... won't work.

and sure, maybe they've spend x years on this, but it's hardly been the only game they've worked on if so, its some side project. it's how it comes off to me at least Razz saying "x years in development!" can be very misleading sometimes..

The CE is not that expensive really. And im a huge CoH1/CoH2 fan...well...anything ww2 really.
I don't drink or smoke - so throwing money at something like this...well..it wont affect my economy in anyway if it turns out to be bad.

Edit: Im still anoyed when i pre-ordered CoH2 CE and it was never released lol. But tbh i was very disapointed at CoH2 for the first couple of months, nowaydays i love it.

Preordering / buying products of questionable quality is not healthy, bois.

Let the shit come out first. Watch it, taste it, smell it and if it turned out good... well... buy it, damn it! At a discount price.
