Idiot japanese derpelopers cannot into PC yet again
Also, thought a 3070 would be enough to maintain steady performance with raytracing (however this game is implementing that) at 1200p but nope.
Can't wait to find out whatever odd bugs and/or performance issues that RE4 remake will come up with
EDIT: Done after some ~10h. Not bad, but no way I'm buying this shit.

Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, releasing Oct. 28th, includes the base game, Winters' Expansion, and Trauma Pack.
Those who purchase the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition at launch will receive the "Street Wolf Outfit" as an early purchase bonus.
Winters' Expansion includes:
・Third Person Mode allows players to enjoy the story from a new perspective.
・The Mercenaries Additional Orders introduces new playable characters and additional stages.
・Shadows of Rose continues the story of Ethan's daughter Rosemary.
Anyone else vastly prefer RE7 over this? I really enjoyed exploring the castle in the beginning but other than that it just got too silly and goofy, villains were just dumb compared to the RE7 ones. I know that's kind of the hallmark of the series, at least from RE4 on (correct me if im wrong, i never played these before RE4) but it was a big disappointment. Also expected the castle to be a bigger part of the game.
Yeah it kinda went downhill after the castle and big tity goth mama. but it's still a polished timewaster, rare these days.
We're in a "take what you can get" game market these days
It is pretty weird because traditionally the "big unkillable monster that gets bigger everytime you put it down" usually lasted until the end game but they killed her off way too early.
If 7 is better than this then i don't have much hopes for it. Tried 7 again for the third time and got further than ever before. Now i reached the mothers place and you have a new theme, new person stalking around and new types of enemies. So yeah i feel i know where this is going. Every time you defeat someone it's going to be the same shit over and over.
I think you will prefer 8, its closer to the older games, less horror, but better gameplay and more variety, there are many different kinds of enemies instead of just blobs. Its a more fun game definitely.

Pretty much, I never finished 7. I preferred 8. RE2make is better than both, I wish they'd just make more like that.
Re2make has best balance of action/adventure. Village is very good though, the first 2 areas of the game are by far the best, the upcoming thirdperson mode sounds good. The only RE i didn't play was Re4 which people say is peak of the series but it looks very action derp to me off gameplay I've seen.
Mechanically RE4 was great but once Ramon (enemy + level) comes into the picture, it all goes downhill. I never thought it was peak, peak for me are games set in Raccoon city with the T/G-virus. Every game that deviated from that setting wasn't as good iMmmOooo.
Raccoon city has the best atmosphere. A battered old town littered with old world technology and architecture. The weapons, vehicles etc are from the 60s/70s/80s/90s. With all of the branching paths and plotlines, notes and stories. It has a charm that no other game has managed to replicate.
I really wish they didn't rush RE3, it could have been up there with the 2nd remake if they fleshed it out a lot more
I get RE3 is short, but I think its pretty good if you replay and unlock the unlockables etc. I reckon i've beat RE2make 5 times, RE3make 5-6 times. I've tried that ghost survivor mode in RE2 a bunch of times but i just find it frustrating.
RE7 is the least fun to play I agree, but its definitely the scariest, especially in VR, what an experience... Coming after 6 the game was definitely trying something different, kudos to Capcom for that, I also prefer 8 though.
I think I finished 8 around 5 times in a row at all difficulties, my fastest speedrun time was around 1:50, world record is around 1:30 or something, so far away
I guess if you like horror games you will like RE7 the best. Re7, Re2remake, RE4, then RE8 for me. I still had fun with Re8 and i liked the open structure of it, just disappointed by the lack of horror.
I've never been able to get into the originals. Didn't have a PSx growing up

Not perfect, but they did tremendous work.
The RE1 version has been in "Stay tuned" status for years now, though
I have replayed the originals with these mods and honestly, legit game devs couldn't have done a better job. It was great revisiting the oldies with a crisper "just like how I remember'em" picture.
Highly recommended
Yep those goodies have been sitting in my bookmarks for a while, will get to it too eventually
As for the franchise, I'm just glad that after the disappointing Resident Ebola, the utterly embarrassing Gears of Resident QTE War and whatever the hell Operation Raccoon City was, Capcom went back to making (and remaking) triple-A Resident Evil games with proper survival-horror mechanics and atmosphere.
The low-budget Revelations 1/2 were already a step in the right direction, but RE7 / RE2make / Village (and RE3make as well, despite the gimping) are all genuinely rock-solid games in my book, with all their pros and cons. I've never really cared about the story or the characters in the series (too cheesy to be taken seriously) so for me experimenting with different locations and changes of perspective - whilst maintaining the core mechanics almost intact - has kept the franchise interesting and fresh over the years.
I would have preferred a more survival-horror-based entry than RE4make since RE4 is essentially a third-person shooter, but it does make sense and it looks promising as well. I'm sure they'll fuck everything up again at some point though..you're merely postponing the inevitable
Here's hoping the Dark Ages will remain forgotten till the end of time, it would be painful to see Capcom reevaluate couch-op-y solutions and giraffe blowjobs 2.0 reboots.

The stories are mostly disconnected, but you should play RE1make anyway because it's good . Get the REupscale mod as well as the Door Skip one and you're set.

Go in order. 0 1R 2R 3R 4 5 6 7 8
0, however, can be pretty trolling...

Regarding the RE4 remake, it's just meh for me like any other remake. I just don't see the point of getting excited towards something that I've already played once with barely any changes to the core experience (which is IMO what I think this remake is going to be).

FOV is like 10 or something? I get it if they aim to create a claustrophobic experience but this is probably a bit over the top in terms seeing everything through binoculars.
