The whole of starwars was dead to me ever since the Disney acquisition. It's just playing it too safe and too PG-5, I'm too much of a cynical old man for safe stories aimed at children.

That's not the problem with current SW though, also its been kiddie friendly since RotJ (with a few exceptions). Story wise i'm not sure it has ever been very "adult"? The most adult themed SW is probably the TV-series Clone Wars, which many didn't watch because they think it's for kids since it's a "cartoon".
Personally i don't mind easy going stories though. I even enjoy a good old swash buckling movie or some Dreamworks movies from time to time even in my 50's.

Cool. First cinematic trailer and name drop of the sequel. So.. 2023. I hope they've changed some of the gameplay mechanics and made the game itself a bit deeper.

Star Wars is so tired and ruined to me.
I would be happy to play a game like that but with Star Wars name attached to it all I feel is a need to puke...

Agreed.
There's a billion Marvel related movies, tv shows and games
but it doesn't make we wanna puke nearly as much as anything releasing these days that has Star Wars in it's name
Because I just know it's gonna be another completely soulless cash-grab sucking the life out of something that used to have all the potential in the world

They better make exploring more interesting this time and not just hunt for some pointless fucking lightsaber or ship skin which matters nothing in the game. Being able to swap saber colors is the only thing you need.

They should have skill upgrades you somehow find throughout the world rather than just dumping points into skills. That's boring game design. Plus if setup like a metroidvania-lite it rewards future playthroughs if you know "Hey, i should go get this skill" and if you can beat a boss earlier than intended you are rewarded with a more valuable skill.

Biggest missed opportunity for me was on that planet wiith the tiny creatures. You saw that giant monster in the background and you though "this tries to be DS, ill definitely fight this later!" Which never happened.

Hiring snarky genZers to run official Twitter accounts can definitely be a double-edged sword, they know the memes like the back of their hand but they often don't know when to use them 
The context of EA's failures and the fact that they're desperately trying to regain trust lately by releasing single-player games made it hilarious in its own way. The dude probably got a raise though since that whole thing generated a lot of traffic and for EA there is no such thing as bad publicity

Haha yeah of course money is always the reason, that goes without saying - games are merely products and corporations gonna corporate - what I meant is that outside our very very tiny circle of veteran cats, there are millions of people and potential customers whose perceptions and views are extremely volatile and such naivety can be swung rather easily. Brand trust truly is a rollercoaster-like phenomenon that functions almost like Men in Black's brain swipe, and companies love it.
