Cyberpunk is a shame, I've not extensively played it maybe 2-3 hours. It really sucks because most the features are almost there.. its every gameplay element is 80% complete.

You can even get away with dogshit performance stuttering every 1 second and dropping to <15fps and break sales records in 2022 (Elden ring).

If you could just scrap the openworld and any derivative GTA crap and solely focus on FPS, enemy AI, and the trademark CDPR storytelling. I just wanted a polished Deus Ex (2000) with good graphics.

Too bad most gamers these days will complain incessantly if a game isn't open world.

What is that guy talking about? CP2077 runs extremely well. Try playing Elden Ring on your PC and then tell me about "dogshit performance" Laughing

Me? - correct, that's exactly what im saying, your game running like dogshit is inconsequential for sales and reviews (case in point elden ring).

Yeah Cyberpunks graphics and performance are impressive, it's the failed GTA elements customers were expecting that sucked.

the great fuss about this game is not whether it is good or bad but that it simply is not what it was advertised to be.

so ppl keep quarreling about good or bad and miss the critical point of it being...a lie.

i loved this trailer and the teaser was fucking dope:

I don't know about that, there could be a patch that adds something modders added back in late 2020. 2021 if we're REALLY lucky! Fingers crossed.

Fuck, man, now that the 'jank' has been mostly cleaned out, I am liking this game more and more.

If this continues, it might become one of my favs of all time. Shifty Fellar

It reveals itself slowly: the details, the love they put into it, the immersion, the story, the jokes I am cracking with Takemura, the katana fights, the hacking, the graphics, the mindfucking HDR effects, the driving in the rain while listening to noir late night jazzy tunes, the sex, the motivation to push forward in all departments...

Yeah, there's still some jankiness to it, of course, but I got used to get over that.

You are not allowed to say that Laughing

It's a solid open world RPG lite, good game since +/- 1 month since release. But people like to hate.

lol wut

I'm pretty sure that 99% of people who've played it hold the opinion that it was good but flawed. They overpromised and underdelivered, and it was buggier than any game that came before it.

This pretense that there is only 'hate' is fucking stupid. In regards to just one video we were shown in 2018:

As if this even needs to be pointed out.

If you are only happy with perfection life will be terrible. And I couldn't care less what CDR has promised when playing the game. Sure it could have been a timeless classic with more time and better management. It's not. So be it.

This game managed to do one major thing right: to transport me in a fantastic 'fantasy' world that goes beyond the borders of our reality.

It DOES feel like the resulting fireworks of a vivid, rich, highly imaginative mind. And this is exactly what I mean:

I say you are contradicting yourself a bit there. If you are happy with a bit less than perfection (which is the case), then you will DO see this as a 'classic'.

I think the general consensus is that 'it's almost there'.

And in time, if* CD Red will continue to support it, it WILL be that something memorable.

*we'll see about that

Quote where I said it needed to be perfect or anything of the kind

Cool. Welcome to the minority. But it doesn't make people 'haters' for being disappointed in the many features that were sold to them, ideas that never eventuated. It's a natural, clear cut and reasonable reaction to a giant bait and switch. If they came out before release and mentioned that none of those things existed, you'd have a point. But they didn't, and you don't.

It's just showcase for a work portfolio anyway. Doubt these people will make a full Cyberpunk 2077 game.

They've done it for many other games. its for clicks, which means money / exposure / subs.

10K subs in 1 month, that's pretty decent.

But such showcases have nothing to do with actual game and gameplay. It is closer to CGI clip than actual game. I don't know if it is an issue of the recording but it seems running rather poorly (doesn't seem like flawless 60fps for me). Add AI, live city, actual game scripts etc. and your CPU/GPU budget is just gone.

I like the art style better than the one on RED Engine so it would be interesting to see next Cyberpunk game made on UE5 engine by CDPR.

its not optimized, its just something they make for the graphics to get clicks..

optimization wouldn't really make a lot of sense to spend perhaps weeks on, unless they either want to impress people with the FPS or if they want to make it into a working game.

As fucking weird as it may sound, after a very tough fight I managed to break through the jank and 'see past' the unfinished layers of the game.

I won.

I love it.

Well the problem with this game is that the world feels dead, there are a lot of people walking around but it is forced, they should put a lot more into creating a believable world, not put a lot of robots walking around in rows, no one jaywalking...... If you imagine a world of cyberpunk it should be a dark world more like Blade runner, not like 80ies neon crazy clean bubble gum world. Wink

I'm postponing finishing my 1st playthrough hoping they will add fsr2.0 soon, which btw is hell of a great job from AMD making it compatible even with competitor's hardware.
All hail AMD
