I gave it a go, refunded at 2 hours. Hmm its not bad, picture fallout but real-time. The world and presentation is interesting enough, its very RPG-lite, you have abilities and armaments with 4 levels you can aquire like lockpick, sneak, slow time etc. You can hire AI controlled companions, random encounters in the overworld etc.
For whatever reason after 2 hours i just didn't feel it was RPG enough to continue for 20-40 hours, I'd prefer to play wasteland. I appreciate what they are trying to do here, its worth a look / 2h trial.
I like the game, combat is fun I use the pistol most of the time. Yeah I like how the graves stay as you progress threw the game.
They made the pistol fun to use, but man getting up close with the double barrel shotgun and getting a close up kill shot and watching them fly back is satisfying every time.
I tried the isodemo for a while since the setting intrigued me, it's a game that definitely does have good ideas (the level of interactivity and high reactivity of the world for instance are remarkable) but alas, for me the experience itself can't quite scratch that immersive(tm) itch.
Between the disposable pseudo-loot-y nature, inconsistent AI and the camera, the action often ends up being more clumsy than it should be - especially when there are many enemies involved. I would have preferred a direct third-person perspective, as the game mostly relies on switching guns and abilities on the fly while either Max Payning your way through the encounters or trying to wrestle the stealth system from above. There doesn't seem to be much variety either, the writing is serviceable..it's an interesting effort, but also a bit of a sad harmonica/10

yeah, I had a gunfight which only broke out since I couldnt see the enemy that was in the barn. (whereas the actual character could see it from her POV)
Also jumping, ledge grabbing in a tactical view?

Hard West is awesome. Has a really dark atmosphere and soundtrack as well.
Much more tactical/combat focused than Weird West.
Agreed, I remember liking it quite a bit when it came out, nuXCOM-y with its own unique twists and flavours. I never finished the game because I was waiting for the usual (needed) patching routines, will definitely play it again in the future. Apparently, a sequel was announced just a few weeks ago, might be another incentive to revisit it.

Oh shit, you're right about Hard West 2! The original was really good, although it had some issues. HW2 is also coming in 2022, nice!

b: the use or language of sarcasm
I can't play this anymore. The AI is so god damn bad, the amount of bugs I've come across that I keep having to reload my game to fix it. Between my companions just not traveling with me, the entire town just going agro as soon as I load in, the story just doesn't get any better, the quests are boring as fuck and having to travel slowly between all these areas gets draining.
