i hope they manage to improve the gameplay though, because if you didn't get sucked into the witcher 3's quests that kept distracting you every few seconds as you wandered the map, you would notice that there's not much interactivity with the world, and how settlements/cities all feel kinda dead and are basically just signboards you get and turn in quests to

Killing Floor 1 which uses UE 2.5 (released in November 2005) probably still stutters at the forrest maps regardless of your GPU.
It seems that stutterfest is a feature no matter how pretty new version happens to be.

Just like with Cyberpunk this thread may be more entertaining than the game itself... |
Haha indeed, that's the only reasonable approach at this point. The time for expectations is over, bring on the perpetually flaming trash can of drama!
Though I can't deny that the transition from to does hurt a bit.

even if this game is gonna be a mess or dont live up to the expectations:
1.they ll probably hype it up.
2. ppl will fall for it AGAIN.

Nahh i doubt it'll be the same. Cyberpunk was different than anything and they clearly failed to decide on a direction for it, also the scope was much larger in the beginning. And here we are after reboots, people getting tired of waiting and complaining loudly (understanably) and naturally developers who are tired of it also and want it out of the door. I mean who wouldn't after developing that shitshow over that many years.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2022-03-23-cd-projekts-new-witcher-game-director-speaks-out-on-crunch
Quote: | This week, with its new The Witcher project now public, CD Projekt veteran Jason Slama announced he would serve as the project's game director.
"I am super thrilled to announce that I have humbly been working to ensure the success of the next big AAA The Witcher game as its Game Director!" Slama wrote. "Think you could join the team? We have tons of roles open with the possibility of remote work we could discuss!"
One response to this suggested Slama had forgotten to mention "horrible crunch and being treated like a dog".
Slama then responded: "Never on my watch!" |

I would have much preferred a fleshed out "area" to explore ala the OG Deus Ex, hell even the way the Terminator game does it is fine, I don't need to walk across the map passing shit I can't interact with and adds nothing to the game, just give me an area big enough to fuck around with and then that's that.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2022-03-24-how-the-witchers-school-of-the-lynx-fan-authors-came-up-with-new-lore
Quote: | Earlier this week, The Witcher devs confirmed what was previously only suspected - the mysterious medallion half hidden and buried in the snow in CD Projekt Red's recent Witcher announcement is indeed that of a Lynx.
However, before this confirmation, the School of the Lynx only ever existed in fan fiction. But it would now appear that CDPR was inspired by its Witcher community, and as a result is building this new school into its video game series.
So, we have an idea of how CDPR came up with its version of School of the Lynx, but what about the fan fiction project's creators themselves? |

remember now that the games were only fanfiction to begin with. They only got the idea from the community, now the entirety of the game.
