Quote:
Disney is reportedly looking to delve into the lore of the Sith with some upcoming Disney+ Star Wars projects. According to Kessel Run Transmissions’s Corey Van Dyke, Darth Revan will appear in an upcoming property.

During the HoloNet Marauder podcast, Van Dyke revealed Darth Revan will connect to the upcoming Disney+ series The Acolyte. Revan will reportedly debut in hologram form in the show and will then appear in his own series during the Knights of the Old Republic era.

“If you’re a fan of Knights of the Old Republic, Darth Revan will be coming back into canon very soon in something Disney+ related,” said Van Dyke. “There’s going to be a big push for Sith characters post-Mando. That’s going to be Disney’s big Disney+ slate, starting with The Acolyte. Obviously, the timeline won’t match up, but I know for sure there is concept art out there of [Revan] in a hologram, which I believe is for Acolyte. It will kind of tease his own series eventually.”

Oh man, I REALLY hope it's going to be more than an old Sith holocron with Darth Revan making a cameo. It does feel very possible that Disney will delve into the rich and very interesting Sith history to tell stories since that's what the three Star Wars trilogies was all about. The characters and stories created in books and games, taking place in time periods long before Darth Bane introduced "The Rule of Two".

Oh yeah cause we're the demographic for a toy selling franchise.

If they do cool lightsaber battles who care!

Phantom menace sucked but the fights were cool.

That's what I'm afraid of, being a massive fan of Kotor1 as well as Kotor 2 (yes, Kotor2 was rough around the edges due to serious timecrunch). Since Revan was brought back into canon I guess there's a chance that "The Exile/the Jedi Exile" Meetra Surik will be brought back into canon as well.

 Spoiler:

Btw, here's the canon and the legend variants of Revan. Just click on the two tabs at the top to switch between canon and legend.

Dave Filoni was really clever when he created The Mandalorian. Instead of using an existing character, he created a new one with no pre-existing history or appearance in any other Star Wars content, using the lore and legends of the Mandalorians and their history to create a platform for Din Djarin and the other Mandalorians we see in the show(s). That left him an empty canvas (with the Mandalorian history and characteristics as a framework) to tell new stories and introduce new characters as well as bring back some characters from the animated shows he had created with input by George Lucas, esp. when it came to creating new characters.

As we've unfortunately seen, when Disney brings back classic characters they tend to mess things up in a bad way. Just look at the sequel trilogy, the Solo movie and to some extent The Book of Boba Fett... They effed up the lore and even broke continuity from the previous trilogies. One example is Lukes original blue lightsaber which he lost in Empire and that was either completely obliterated after falling a huge distance or ended up falling into Bespin, the gas giant where Cloud City was floating above the highly poisonous and toxic gases. Yet it conveniently appeared in Episode VII and given to Rey who somehow could wield it as if she had trained for years.
