The performance has been a wip since like forever. Hopefully they can fix it before release, but the history of large scale UE4 games is not in their favor.
I'm mostly baffled they seem unwilling to reintroduce the positive resolution scaling (used to go up to 150%, can only be set up to 100% now), it was a god send for more clarity

What is the current state of this game? Worth getting at this point?
Based on few videos it has matured well since the last time I tried it. (Some free weekend probably a year ago or something.)
This game screams for friends party and I'm not 100% will I be able to find even 2-3 of them. According to Steam Charts player count is 'OK' though it could've been bigger.

I need new non-ADHD FPS for casual gaming especially after WARZONE is getting boring and BF2042 is what it is. Siege is still fun, but playing it at late hours after a long day, is a recipe for fustration.

Then this game should be just right up your alley !
But it does strongly emphasize squad coordination and so on, playing it without communicating is a chore - be prepared to use voice or at the very least to listen to it if talking over the mic isn't your thing The learning curve is rather steep but there are plenty of resources for you to find.
If you can grab a couple mates your experience will be better, but you can pretty easily find nice and patient folks all around !

My DAC is using 384kHz. Lowering it to 192kHz has 'fixed' the issue.
I joined random game and FPS was all over the place. In menu it was about 60, on the field everything between 30 and 140. I tried max settings without blur and AA but nothing seem to make any difference. I even tried to lower the rendering resolution down to 45% and still no difference. Isn't my PC really beefy enough for this game at 3440x1440 even on medium settings or am I missing something?

They're not making games for old men anymore.
Tru dat mate.
The more we are agening, the more we have this look at the new AAA games:

This game is rather poorly optimized ATM (better than it used to be though), LODs are still WIP, performance tends to fluctuate rather wildly depending on maps/patches/moon cycles
I've not really had any performance issue since a couple updates so I'm not sure what sort of hiccup you're experiencing (I can lose 10-30 fps depending on the aforementioned factors, but it's always 60+fps in 1440p and pretty much max settings, I must be lucky), unfortunately ! The official discord could be helpful in that regard

What settings are you using atm? Knowing this is an Unreal engine a single setting can do the job.
This reminds me of Killing Floor 1 which probably still stutters at the forrests regardless of the hardware.
I forgot about the -dx12 option, my bad ! Go for it asap, this is what brought me solid performance after getting my new rig, I haven't had issues nor looked back ever since. It really makes a world of difference on capable GPUs. It's pretty stupid it's still not an easily accessible option in settings considering how much of a difference it makes, but I believe they said DX12 wasn't implemented per se or something
Screen resolution doesn't have a very striking effect on performance, so we should be getting roughly similar numbers - at the very least, you shouldn't be dipping to 30fps considering your beast of a rig
They reduced draw distance because most of the playerbase was complaining about performance and putting a lot on pressure on the dev team because of it, they are currently working on proper LODs for very long distances which should improve both performance and visual clarity - playing with a sniper rifle/scope makes it particularly striking how poorly this is currently implemented.

@TheZor Do you have any links where the devs talk about improving the draw distance?
I was complaining about them reducing LOD every patch on discord months ago ... one of the devs assured me they are working on LOD setting in options, he implied it would be here soon but with HLL you never know

Somewhere in the Discord I'm afraid
I'm fairly confident about it, they improved the performance for everyone by culling some of the farthest rendering distance (leading to houses looking like melted candle wax boxes from afar), they are working on implementing proper LODs to make all of it look better but as shadak wrote.. that'll only be "when it's done" !
