Seriously, how the hell can u guys afford the insurance for bikes like that?

I dont drive anything, for personal reasons. But I have buddies who are 21-25 who own bikes and they cant afford the insurance. my one bud's insurance is like $$840-$880 a month. I dunno if thats high or not but fuck, it seems like it to me. He pays that much a) because its a speed bike, not even a chopper or anything. b) he's the in the prime 'risk' age group and well, yeah, he does have a record for illegal street racing and he's smashed only one bike...either which way, I still dont see how young guys can afford the insurance. Unless its paid for by their parents or they have a wicked job.

Im sure i could afford to get a nice bike/car...but, substances and vehicles seem to go hand in hand with me so I tend to stay away from vehicular operations...Laughing Im serious tho, much safer if Im not on the roads.

Nice one mate, though I'd wager you should be able to hit an indicated 170 quite easily on a 9R what happened did you run out of courage or runway? Very Happy

Been riding my ZXR400 to work mainly while the R6 has been taking a break due to this deadly weather. Riding the ZXR400 through 2 inch thick snow with the rear wheel spinning out and losing traction is fun but I dont fancy the repair bill if she goes down add to that some boy racer twats who decide its fun to try and race with black ice on the road....I almost binned it Wednesday.

Ride safe mate, especially in this weather.

Like the bike, looks clean without any marks scratches etc... I have to say enjoy all aspects about bikes, from the theory to the pratical. One thing that keeps me going.

My ride is a Yamaha R6

Speed is great in the bikes but im also a corner fan, a good challenge getting the right speed / positioning etc... Trying to scrub my technique so that my riding style is smooth. I will get there one day! Smile

Nice bike, Athough i have never been a kawi fan. Im ordering new pipes for my 1000RR this week. Now all i need is a power comander and a undertail kit...oh an new front a rear tires for spring. Cant wait. Smile

Why wouldnt they insure you for the 1000RR. ITs a far safer bike than a old zx9R. Its faster yes (Froze my spedo at 299, gentlemans clause)
Happy Riding.

Heres my CBR in my Kitchen. Smile

@syco

Insurance for a rocket is not that expensive. I have a litre bike (CBR1000RR) and a new F150, both with full coverage, and my house insureance is on the same policy. And i pay 400 a month. And im in the high risk age bracket. I bet you buddies just have bad records. Or maybe TO insurance is very expensive.

Its technically against the law. But man do i see alot of Sask plates here in calgary...hint hint.

Sask (i think) has the cheapest insurance in Canada. All you need is a friend or relative to let you use there address.

yeah, I like the sounds of Saskatchewan's insurance .. Wink Publicly funded and administered insurance ... no record profits for stockholders Very Happy

Quote:
Perhaps more significantly, Saskatchewan Government Insurance also administers driving examinations and issues Saskatchewan driver's licences, vehicle registrations and licence plates. In fact, the vehicle registration, licence plate and basic insurance policy are sold as one package and once registered, the vehicle can be driven by anyone with a valid licence without compromising the insurance coverage. A poor driving record will not affect the cost of the vehicle registration or basic insurace - instead, SGI will charge a higher premium for the driver's licence, which must be renewed annually. The cost of the licence is not affected by the driver's age, gender or driving experience.

Makes it a little more affordable Smile
