finished. was a cool game, very old school, but difficulty needs some tweaking, easy is too easy and medium is like dark souls when fighting bosses

And I already got bored, generic combat, generic gameplay, little to no story

Yeah, you start unlocking new abilities, some env puzzles, bosses and so on

Also the difference in difficulty in fighting regular mobs and bosses is insane at medium difficulty. The mobs are a walk over, the bosses hardcore.
I don't have the patience for souls like games so I've deleted the game.
Don't like the game though.
Besides the eye candy, the game is boring. It's slow, childish and the gameplay is uninspired. I realy loved star wars fallen order and hoped for something simlair, both being 3d platformers with melee fighting. But this is not even close. A poor game realy. They are lucky to kick off the release season. In november this game would go by unnoticed.

I pretty much honestly loved most of it, but i agree. I was neither prepared nor interested in playing anything soulslike. My fault for not doing any research i guess. Been fine enough and i have only the final boss left on medium, but damn. He's hard core for sure.

Being over halfway the game, I have to agree with this. The game looks great, but it kind of falls short on the gameplay. Getting a bit bored by now. As a platformer, it's not exactly the best, especially with the invisible borders everywhere. But it's also painfully linear and, if you play anything than story mode, the combat is too hard and also too 'serious' for a game that's presented as being color- and playful.
Like there was a completely separate team working on just the combat, not realizing what kind of game it was going to be.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Agreed. There is a significant and quite bizarre dissonance between the core of the game and all the various boss battles, it's like browsing a children's book that includes R-rated pictures at completely random intervals 
The pseudo-Soulsian parts were actually the ones that didn't put me off. Alas, everything else felt so bland and utterly forgettable that at some point I had to call in the shift-delete spirit. |
