So, they release a completely unusable game for over 3 days (all the while taking money), and people like this are licking their boots for fixing it? How about fixing it is the bare fucking minimum you can do? Laughing

It's only been two days. They fucked up, but connectivity problems is not something unheard of when it comes to online games. You can always refund.

Well i played a lot of rounds yesterday on the worst (in terms of connection issues) servers - EU. Today before work - tried 2 times to connect and play a map, worked both times. A lot of fun, i don't agree with Immunity in almost all aspects. I was quite impressed how the game just fit with what i wanted from an fps but bf could no longer provide.
I wonder if the recon game mode will be any good. It's a solid month till then and because of the rocky start they already lost a lot of time. They really done fucked up.

They sure did, even now I don't think the game works for everyone. There's also an issue with the progression system which apparently keeps reseting. Too bad, I like the game a lot, but this failed launch is doing a lot of damage.

Yeah, i hope they get up from under it.
Anyway, about the customization - it looks like the game has debugging on since all customization elements are free. The debug command line was circulating on discord and such.
The devs promised those waiting in-game cash but that's not gonna help the game much. Still, a whole weekend gone because of underprepared master authenticating servers clogging with connection requests. I was pissed the whole weekend but i pity the guys who had to work.

I wonder how will they fare with the more open forest map (Smolensk). Also the next map is called an arctic map and since the developers mentioned they want to make a map for players from NA and Asia i'm guessing it might be situated in Alaska (Anchorage maybe). Since Smolensk is a strategically important location it would make sense for Russia to invade via Alaska.

After the successful release of the latest Warzone Giga-Patch we have decided to run new discount. Between 12th and 24th of June, World War 3 will be available with a 40% discount on Steam. If you wanted to try a fresh, modern military experience now is your chance to do so. After the release of the 0.6 patch we feel that WW3 is in a great place and more players should find a reason to jump into the game.

It was unfortunate that this game died because of its disastrous release, it was extremely promising. This resurrection could work, but I don't trust my.games.

I got real strong Spies Like Us, RT, and The Americans vibes out of the voice. Basically, a Russian spy "taught" to speak English without an accent. Very unsettling! Very Happy

Looks like a cheap free-to-play Battlefield knockoff. Not much progress seems to have been made in the 3 YEARS since they launched it on Steam FOR $30 before pulling it and getting into bed with My.Com. That shit-show launch is not something I'll soon forget when it comes to these guys. The fucking audacity they had...just..wow.

I wouldn't call this a Battlefield knockoff just because it's modern warfare. This game had a bunch of interesting mechanics that none of the latest Battlefield games bothered or dared to implement.

The launch was nothing unheard off. A small studio launched an online game in Early Access that was more popular than anyone could imagine which lead to a login server meltdown and loads of refunds.

So, honest question as I genuinely don't know (not trying to get a rise out of anyone with this) - but did they refund all the Steam buyers when they removed the game from sale on Steam? I refunded in the initial window when the servers didn't work.

I ask, because I can't imagine it'd be fun being stuck with a game that doesn't function (Steam branch isn't updated) for several years while it's reworked to run on their new partners' platform (My.Com has their own launcher and back-end, no?) . Not to mention, the playerbase would have dwindled and died, as there was no way for new players to get the game.

Why would they have to refund all the Steam buyers if they didn't want a refund? The game wasn't cancelled and the servers have been live all this time. At worst, we paid for an online game that died out, which isn't the case.

I'm not happy about this partnership with My.com. They ruined Armored Warfare, they are 0not doing a very good job with Conqueror's Blade either. A Russian publisher who made a fortune from milking mobile games is not good news. But this gave the developers a chance to finish their game and anyone who bought it on Steam is going to get something out of it (cosmetic rewards have been confirmed, but I assume some currency will be provided as well).

I actually hope this game is going to be successful in its free to play format, it deserved more than a failed launch. For me it was a step up in gameplay mechanics coming from the Battlefield series. The latter lost its identity in a stupid competition with CoD and as anyone who has eyes can see, it's not going to reclaim it anytime soon. It was also a step down in production value, but I can tolerate that for more substance.

There are two things that truly worry me, My.com and the fast paced action from the latest trailer. But I guess I'll see for myself in two days and I'll return then with some feedback.

I played the Alpha Test for Early Access owners for a few hours and I declare myself satisfied.

The visuals and sound design have been improved. The former not so much, but the game does look much sharper and the animations are more fluid. The guns sound pretty good, but there are some issues with sound localization.

The shooting mechanics are solid. The guns have a noticeable but controllable kick and they feel really nice to use. The new animations help as well, except for the reloading one which is rather annoying (dumping barely used mags...).

All the cool gameplay mechanics are still in the game: modular armor, destroyable tank cameras, various soldier movement animations (leaning, crouch running, standing in prone on your back, the points based strikes), etc.

The customization system is pretty much as it used to be with an exception for vehicles which have been streamlined to my disappointment (less armor options, turret and cannon are one customization, etc.). They split everything into 10 loadouts which gradually unlock new warfare options (assault, marksman, sniper, breacher, etc.)

The UI has been tremendously improved. It's much more readable now, easy on the eye and easy to navigate as well. However, the freezes from the customizations menu are not gone.

All in all, they are going in the right direction with the game. At this point it's going to be more about the amount of content the game provides, how predatory the business model will be and how stable the servers will be at launch.
From what I saw in the official videos, they still only have 5 maps, which is rather disappointing to see/hear. In the Alpha there were tabs for cash store and battle pass which was pretty much a given anyway.
I look forward to the beta tests to follow which will open access for more players. But I will advise in limiting your production value expectations. This is an ambitious game, but an indie game nonetheless.
