I say wait and see, we can speculate for 100's of hours of what they will do.

Not directed at you tet666, but in general (because there is 1001 articles of each side philosophizing what if's on it) so give me an article that states people believe they will only do X on it don't worry, and another one that states they believe will do ALL of X, Y and Z with it...and both are nearly useless in my opinion. As its only their opinion and ideas of what it CAN be used for.

Its as good as giving someone a knife and two sides watching and debating that "They will only chop food with it" and the other "They very well may go on a stabbing rampage".
Yep, both can be potentially true. Even if the person is the worst hardened criminal out of prison, or Martha Stuart, until we SEE what they intend to do with that knife both arguments are preconceived biases based on what they 'think' of that person.

So for me, Wait until it comes out. See what it is/does/used for. And casually decide if I want it. By the time I need it if I decide to skip it. There will be ways around whatever they did to make me decide to skip it.

I wonder how Microsoft will deal with Russia and China market where TPM is forbidden and alternatives with backdoors are used like TCM and whatever russian FSB is now recommending.
I know that China is trying to made their own OS but so far it's not going great and Windows has around 38% market share. And Russia scrambles their Linux based crap but regular end users are still using MS OS.

ok, i has come with more information on why the CPU requirements are so high...

Quote:
Tiger Lake CPUs have Control-flow Enforcement Technology to help Control Flow Guard block ROP attacks (and there's an AMD equivalent).

Eighth-generation processors also already include functionality that improves the performance of HVCI: Intel's Mode-based execute control for EPT (MBEC), AMD's Guest-mode execute trap for NPT (GMET), and ARM's Translation table stage 2 Unprivileged Execute-never (TTS2UXN). Older processors have to rely on slower, less power-frugal Restricted User Mode emulation, which is one of the reasons for the CPU requirements in Windows 11.

For those using Windows 11, have they made it so you can alphabetize the icons in the start menu or do you still need to drag around the icons and do it manually. This has been the biggest annoyance for me with Windows 10 that I hope they finally fix.

What?

I'm not running any plugin or start menu replacement. All my items/icons ARE sorted by alphabet.

I am not talking about the list view but the icon view that would be next to the list view. That is why I mentioned dragging around the icons, in list view you cannot drag the folders.

Got the 4002 STABLE BIOS a few weeks ago and besides of faster bootings (beep after 3 secs from pressing the tower button instead of what, 10?) no other noticeable changes

And the 2nd step about activating the Firmware TPM is what i've talked about here before (i think) wich made W11's compatibility tool to work correctly without any chip add-on etc

But for now it's set to the default Discrete TPM until the moment comes, though i won't install W11 at all until people tests it, Open Shell compatible with W11, etc etc ..

I've been running 11 on my main PC for a while. Nothing to complain about when it comes to stability and performance, but the UI is still an inconsistent mess. They haven't even updated the ugly-ass volume flyout from the Windows 8 era Laughing
