To be honest, I can't get enough of him. He adds enough to it everytime I watch it and his analysis is sometimes quite deep under the silly persona he displays. Especially his newer renditions where he is a bit more over the top are great, much better than his early stuff Smile The only thing that I honestly despise about the vids are the thumbnails.

Dunno why I enjoy him too, even if it's the same formula everytime. He also has private channel on YT where he does "first guy to..." series.

He usually nails all the flaws including some I never noticed myself. For some reason I like his comedic take on it as well as opposed to some grumpy youtuber that go the "angry" and whiny path picking apart movies, shows or games.

Suicide Squad: 7.5/10 ... started off a bit weird(like ~5.5/10), but especially the last big action "scene" (the second half of the movie xD) was really well done!

Evangelion 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time - 9/10

I never really expected to see a great conclusion to the Evangelion franchise, following it since I watched the TV show the first time in 96, yet here it is, against all odds.
The Rebuild movies so far made me very sceptical about the direction everything was going, but now after seeing the 4th and last one, the finale of the franchise itself, it all fell into place.
While the action scenes and the new mech designs are not something I enjoyed much, the atmosphere, character development and emotional journey are something I haven't experienced in a while. I read somewhere that if you would describe everything from the old TV show leading up to the final movie as free depression, this movie would be free therapy. A fitting description for something as cathartic as this. I obviously don't recommend these movies to anyone who hasn't watched the TV show already a long time ago, but seeing so many beloved franchises recently crash and burn (GoT, Star Wars, Star Trek...), this was a really unexpected blessing for me.

Spiral - 4/10

Like the previous soft reboot, no serious edge to it, it felt like a TV film. And the ADR was sooo bad.
I guess Jackson was ok.
And the twist of who is the bad guy etc.. wasn't it obvious? Come on...

For reference my review of the previous soft-reboot entry of the franchise: https://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3108008#3108008

consolitis wrote:
Jigsaw - 3/10

Surprised their soft-reboot ends up being more of the same (all the twists are carried over from earlier films), only with even less of an edge - this film is more akin to a TV movie. Even the "Hello Zep" theme sounded completely anemic during the finale and don't make me laugh at the replacement of "Game over" as the final line... Laughing

Might somehow be better than the previous film in the franchise though which was complete lol.

Incredible visuals, and the production and acting is astounding. But this script and story is dragged out pretentious arthouse nonsense.

Demonic - 3/10

Now I'm glad that Neil was denied the next Alien. It was enough for it being raped by its creator. It wouldn't lived by being gangbang by Bloomkamp.

District 9 must have been some supernatural fit of luck because this was garbage. Unintresting, stupid premise with last act being just fesival of full retardness.
3 points because I fancy Carly Pope.

Brain Damage - 7/10
Good 80s schlock horror. Except the last scene.

The Green Knight 4/10
Pretentious shit

Reminiscence 6/10
Not too bad, although it feels as if I saw it already. I liked the visuals of Miami under water.

Raya and the Last Dragon 6/10
Generic Disney, catered for Chinese audience.

The Empty Man 5/10
I fell asleep

The Suicide Squad 7/10
Very enjoyable, especially the last 30 minutes.

Horse Girl 6/10
It wasn't too bad, I like movies about people slowly going insane (Censor was brilliant in that aspect). I didn't like the ending though.

Reminiscence - 4,5/10

A good cast and an interesting (albeit recycled) idea were enough to make me check this out, plus I was curious to see if Jonathan Nolan's wife had the makings of a v̶a̶r̶s̶i̶t̶y̶ ̶a̶t̶h̶l̶e̶t̶e̶ talented film director. The numerous corny sentimental scenes, daft dialogues, the unnecessary exposition and the fact that at some point the movie even turned into a Steven Seagal-like romp in disguise provided the answers that I was looking for.

The Green Knight - 4/10

The great atmosphere with its quality photography and distinct style could have granted Gawain glory, but the road to unlocking his Steam achievement was a much more tortuous one. I blame the pretentious symbolisms that plague the storytelling and the fact that the movie drags itself along at a petrified snail's pace, though ultimately there is nothing here that's worth remembering. Except maybe for the cum rag.

Absolutely, District 9 was a once-in-a-lifetime project where everything fit together perfectly and where Blomkamp's questionable writing skills for once didn't spoil the party. I doubt we'll see such fine alchemy from him ever again, but I'm open to miracles. His Alien would have been a sight to behold though!

I dunno , ixi is right with everything he says about the movie, but i still enjoyed it wholeheartedly. It wrecks any kind of expectations i had for a movie like this. And despite the somewhat lacking story arc this movie comes together as a sum of its (positive) parts which are exceptional craftsmanship in terms of visuals/sound/acting etc... And its deliciously weird to boot

The outpost 7/10
Holy hell. While i have no idea how much dramatization was going on in this movie it conveys a very vivid image of the hellhole that the whole Afghanistan desaster was. Considering how things are turning out now, it is even more apalling to see what a fucking waste the whole endeavor was...

Have you not seen s03 of Westworld? Or latter half of s02? Laughing
I have my expectations very very low for this weekend movie. A derpy inception Laughing

And I already got a lecture about green knight. Why is a brown guy playing a knight? Is it based on true events? And then a monstrous creature shows up in the trailer and I go yup historically accurate! Laughing

And d9 like others were filled with political shit it's just the characters were interesting and memorable. His other shit not so much. Nothing comes close to "fookin' prawns!"

Haha yep, my disappointment for the direction that Westword took after S01 is still very much there, but I wanted to see if she was actually capable of handling a movie in its entirety. I didn't have any expectations either really, just curiosity. The one that killed the gulo gulo.
