Thats true. You have to leave assembly mode.
Also theres a "shopping list" which can be used, but you have to look at part, open the stupid radial menu, select the list, select add.

I will put this game on hold for a couple of weeks until it's (hopefully) a bit more functional.

I hate you.

Dear All,

we are deeply sorry for all those problems with the game.
There are way too many bugs, We are aware of that.
That kind of situation never should happend.

CMS 14 and CMS 15 have around 90% steam review scores, so we are really disappointed by CMS 18 score.
Mostly - by our actions. We made too many mistakes on release.

You have full right to be angry at us, to be disappointed. To make refunds. We deserved it.
We - are disappointed. We worked on CMS 18 since 2015, right after CMS 15.
Whole this series, each part - it's like a baby to us. We love those cars.
All mistakes we made, are very painful.

But if you still have a little faith in us, please wait a few minutes, hours, days - we are working on fixes 24/7. We won't stop until CMS 18 will be perfect.

Please give us a chance to fix our faults.
We can't find words to express how much your support means to us, at these difficult times.

We owe you a great game. And we will deliver it.
Aaaw...

These days it's so refreshing to see a dev team owning up to their mistakes instead of throwing a hissy-fit.

I guess I'll give it a try once it goes on sale, should be ok at that point.

They're spitting out patches once a day or more now.
Noting everything users are reporting, and adding it to their todo list.
Gotta give them creds for their will to work together with the community.

If you don't know about cars you will have trouble finding what to fix.
If you have much experience with car parts, it will be boring and unreal.

How is it unrealistic? Cant you lie to customers about repairs they don't need, and then bill them for parts you never installed or something?

Hah, think I actually read about something like that, some test or what it was on reliability on mechanic firms or what it was again (Happened recently here in Sweden too come to think of it.) so they knew what needed to be replaced or fixed on the vehicles and marked the parts with a tag or pen or something and then sent it in.

As can probably be guessed then yeah the vehicles passed through repair and when checked the part was still there unchanged.

So yeah it could make for a gameplay element, varying degrees of persuasion or downright aggression as you "negotiate" with the customer. Very Happy

wow that quote is from 2014 Laughing

what I mean is that there is no cable management, there is no torque screwing, no order of screwing/unscrewing bolts, etc..
I even think there is no coolant at all, the only fluid in the game is the engine oil
some parts are viewed as a whole - example the block head - it's 1 big part with 2 cam shafts inside, in reality there are about 30 parts inside.. not to mention cam synchronization
instead of a car having 100,000 individual parts, here there are about 100-150 - which in itself is a pretty good number!
that's what I mean simplified

but in the latest installment there are improvements to the learning curve, if you try to demount a part that you can't, it will highlight in red parts you need to remove before you get to the part in question
