Quote:
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is based around the stories of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, and “adds suspense into dynamic action scenes” to “reveal a Resident Evil world unlike anything seen before.”. The series is being executive produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Capcom), produced by TMS Entertainment, and animated by full 3D animation studio Quebico, which worked on the 2017-released Resident Evil: Vendetta.

Not a film, Infinite Darkness will be an episodic series featuring Leon and Claire.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is scheduled to be released in 2021.

There are three "movie" Resident Evils on the way.

A theatrical live action film (its own universe), a Netflix live action series (its own universe), and this Netflix CG film (the games' universe).

This CG film takes place 2 years after RE4 and will reference that game by showing the president of the US, whose daughter, Ashley, Leon had to rescue in RE4 (no word if she will also be in the film, but it could be a surprise). (Also, don't confuse this President of the US with the President of the US Leon had to kill in the opening of RE6.. that was years later in the timeline so it was a different guy.).

An earlier CG film, Resident Evil: Degeneration, was also starring Leon and Claire and taking place in the year between RE4 and Infinite Darkness.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

I just finished watching the first episode. The animations and the visual quality are all over the place. The writing is questionable even by Resident Evil standards. Having China involved in something virus related and the "political" discussions are just Laughing Laughing .

Yeah, watching it at the moment... "Well the anmation ain't bad..." Gary's mod kicks in - "Nevermind..."

Who writes this stuff?! This whole series could have been avoided if they went public when they got the chip. Laughing

The villain looks like a freakin' clown. I had a good laugh seeing it act all powerful. Laughing

All I see is passion.
Executive neglect.
Lack of skill.
Quick cash grab.
Lazy qa team.
Questionable choices in sfx and background.
Very very cheap to make. But people making it had passion, but lacked knowledge/skill to execute it.

Sad

No I see passionate animators going above their skill level to create something they would be proud of. But their lack of skill, lack of decent qa, and their management not really caring for the quality gives the final product a very cheap lazy feeling.

Questionable choices were made and its either intentional which means they didn't care and just did a quick money grab, or it wasn't intentional and they truly felt they gave it their best, or their boss and their bosses boss didn't care enough to push the details that were needed.

Capcom's RE engine is so perfect for facial expressions, look at their games of the past few years like RE2make or DMC5, so why couldn't they use it for this new dumb CG flick? It seems like they didn't even do mocap, all the characters move so floaty and weird, and mocap has been used for Vidya regularly for 20 years now.

I watched this last night and it reminds me a lot of those other Resident Evil CGI movies they did before. It makes me wonder if it is a lot of the same studios that did those movies and Capcom just signed off on it since they used them before.

Storyline wise it had that Resident Evil convenience of Leon and Claire keep running into each other when you would think she would just call up her brother Chris instead but they probably started working on this show back when the RE 2 remake came out so Capcom's main note was have Leon and Claire interact often enough so like the game their stories are parallel but intersect at times.

yeah felt like a movie, sliced up, trimmed down, and made into a 4 episode show

and they took the voice actors from RE2 remake for claire and leon, and I like them, but they don't fit these versions of the characters imo

visually, it's RE6 leon and Revelations 2 claire, but it's the voices from their new young versions from RE2 remake, and Leon is acting like RE4 leon
so they mixed and matched visuals, voices, and characters from their different versions and it just feels way off to me

also one of the characters in this sounds A LOT like RE5/6 chris, but it's a different voice actor.

and yeah, RE5 had great cutscenes, as did RE2 remake and RE3 remake.
way better than any of these movies really. I don't understand how they keep fucking them up
