I suspect if he wins this case, he'll have no issue working with central and eastern european devs like Owlcat again. He'll probably continue to struggle to find jobs with western devs as they'll never accept his innocence.
Regarding indie, Chris definitely could strike out independently and probably have no issue getting funded on sites like KS. He's said on the Codex in the past though that he doesn't like leading things unless he absolutely has to.
I think he enjoyed freelancing because people just hired him for writing jobs and he didn't have to deal with any of the bullshit associated with management at Obsidian.
Either way, I really wish him the best. With the bullshit he has been through I hope he lands on his feet and continues doing whatever he enjoys.

In Avellone's case Jacqui had flirted with him for months before he sent his drunken text. I do agree sending entirely unsolicited messages is pretty retarded, but in his case she'd been leading him on for ages.
