Mods couldn't fix Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout 76 for me.
And since SO MANY people surely disagree with my preferences, I am sure they'll all be pleased to see in the near future a new game from Bethesda. I wouldn't worry too much about that.

The fault in your logic is that you believe more years in development means a new engine. It doesn't. It'll still be the very same.
Hm? There was no mention of the new/old/same game engine in any of my posts. How did you reach this conclusion?
The lack of interest in a 'new' Bethesda game is also due to how old (see?) their WHOLE SYSTEMS are, including and especially their engine. Archaic is also a nice word.
Anyone expecting a new engine from Bethesda is gonna be disappointed, no matter how many years will pass between game releases.
"I'd consider Starfield 2022 basically confirmed from what I have been hearing, seems to be Q1 most likely March. Lots of releases this fall anyway, and Starfield will have more in-game systems than any other BGS game so they have a lot of polishing and testing to do. We'll see".
"Still a SMALL CHANCE of a 2021 release but there is a lot of talk going on centered around 2022. Either way Starfield will certainly have some sort of presence at E3 2021 one way or another".
i think about this game as i wanted mass effect andromeda to have been, free to explore the galaxy and build beautiful starships, hope they don't disappoint like every other game recently did for me.

Uh huh.
Bethesda polishing and testing their game? As if.
They owned by Microsoft now so hopefully they put more pressure on them to fix that extra bug or two before release...

If they replace entire team then it's possible, otherwise forget it.
Jason Schreier via Bloomberg on the recent leaks, release date and other stuff:
Quote:
Rumors like this keep floating around but Starfield is nowhere near done, according to several ppl familiar with development. It'll be at E3 but the planned release date I've heard is way later than most people expect. Sharing this so that folks keep their expectations in check

What people might not realize is that the bulk of Bethesda Game Studios, including the MD office, was working on Fallout 76 until it launched. Starfield's team was very small until 2019. Rumors that the game was planned for 2020 or far into production then are just not true
It will probably be out Late 2022.
I had hopes for the traditional Bethesda coneference moment - here is the game, expect it in six months time, but this time seems to be different.
