As long as demand is higher than supply the prices won't change a whole lot. The market need to me saturated enough for demand to drop, something I doubt would be interesting to the GPU-makers and OEM's. The chain of supply/demand will keep milking the masses who don't give a crap about paying two to five times the MSRP for a 30x0 card. As long as people are moaning yet open up their wallets for the corporate greed to steal your money, "ya'll are fucked".
But seriously, am I the only one that is seeing a pattern here? They can't fulfill the market demands, yet they introduce new refreshes (paper launches) and present their next gen GPU, meaning more paper launches and severe under-supply that keep boosting the prices to what a medium range gaming PC would normally cost. I guess after a couple of years of these outrageous prices many people have followed the sheep mentality of "getting used" to the sky high pricing and giving the signal that it's the new normal.
they always want to drive prices up and this is the purfect excuse, even if many ppl stop buying it, the ones that do largely compensate for it, making it even.
either sell many of them for cheap or a few for a lot
And selling few means lower production costs since silicon slabs and fabbing the hardware is expensive. This will keep going until people either get wise of what's going on or the second hand market grows and steal a lot of sales... OR, if AMD decide to steal huge chunks of the market share by releasing more affordable products without letting the execs greed ruin it OR a new GPU-maker enters the market with more affordable yet competitive products. Intel's GPU-stuff isn't interesting at the moment afaik so..
I wish PowerVR/STMicro or similar would come back to the discreet GPU market and release a truly smart GPU that was super-efficient like their STG-4000(Kyro)/STG-4500(Kyro II). I had the Kyro II after I sold my 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 and it was really good. The only reason their GPU ultimately failed and they dropped the PC market was because they couldn't keep up with NVidia who added hardware T&L to their hardware and used their influence to push HW T&L into DX7 which every "cool" game at the time adopted. Nvidia played it smart by buying up technologies to speed up their R&D of faster brute force GPU's. PowerVR and STMicro simply couldn't keep up due to the companies much smaller sizes and budgets of their R&D and marketing of their GPU's and cards. I still have my Kyro II (dead though) boxed somewhere.
So Annoying, just found store that sells the 6800 XT at launch price in israel... the catch is, you need to buy whole PC for that price
Buy whole PC, resell the rest.

Can't you directly buy from AMD Direct Buy website ? The drops are relatively hard to snatch, but it's nothing impossible either since they always happen the same time (every Thursday from 5PM to 6PM CET, random time in that span) and last a couple minutes.

Even after all the taxas , it will STILL be Signify cheaper than the current price here, at least 2 and half times. So I guess it will be the best option.

All of them will do the same : create an "Add to cart" button even without stock - pressing the button will check for the stock, if there's any it adds the product. You don't have to wait until AMD's website updates, which sometimes never happens for a variety of reasons, or too late to grab anything left.
So every Thursday (not Wednesday, no idea why I wrote that, sorry !), around 5PM, you can start spamming Not too often though, as you'll get a softban if you spam too much - clearing cookies/VPN fixes that. Good luck ! People on the Discord channel I use seem to have good results, I don't see walls of people crying about missing out like it happens for NVIDIA FEs.

It's just me, or more reasonable prices alert "drops" happening more frequently?
I literally using stock live update and "stock alert" happening more and more.. it doesn't help that seconds later you can't buy them
Some local importer in Finland has listed Asus TUF and Strix RTX 3080 Ti models with the prices between 1500€ and 1600€ TAX FREE. It seems that 3080 Ti will have a starting prices from 1800€ up to whatever.
About 2000€ for a 12GB card.
Some pricing from the UK:

The 3080Ti FE for $1200 seems too high to me and 3070Ti FE for $600 seems low to me as I though the 2 price points might end up $700 and $1000 but I guess they still plan to sell the 3080 FEs at $700 so now just to see where these fall in the benchmarks.

The 3080Ti is based on 3090 specs with less VRAM, basically (should have been named 3085 or something instead ). For its price it remains a good deal and if available, it's a much, much, much better one than the custom cards' current prices.
Not as good as a 3080FE though, I'd agree, but it remains less than the 2080Ti FE starting price.

If this fucking works on my VEGA 64 I'll eat a broomstick.
