I'm still curious what they will show. There's a chance that the veterans leaving will lead to new ideas that maybe are for the better; while I did enjoy DA:I to a reasonable extent, after Anthem and ME:A a shake-up doesn't sound like the worst thing ever, no?

After that DA4 video released a few weeks ago with the pronouns-in-twatter-bio "developers"... not really.

Valhalla can be argued with in terms of aesthetics, but in no world is Watch Dogs 3 better in that regard and I was really hyped for WD3 before it ended up being so bad in reality.

There's no need to agree with anything or anyone every time.

The games that I was looking forward to the most this year were either delayed or desperately needed to spend more time in the oven (Cyberpunk and Wasteland 3, I'm looking at you) so the only reasonable option was to wait and activate the trusty patient_patched_bear_mode
If I had to name a personal GOTY it would probably be Ori 2, followed by American Sam Bridges Simulator.
Some honorable mentions that managed to emerge from the massive sea of disappointments
- Desperados 3: the faithful sequelmake that the good ol' Desperados deserved, with all its pros and gringo cons
- Ghostrunner: if you ever need to hectically slice folks in half and curse at the wind whilst cherishing cyber tunes and vistas, then look no further
- Green Hell: the Beargrylliest survival game in all its non-glory, with surprisingly thoughtful writing
- Hellpoint: discount sci-fi Dark Souls done right mostly
- Crusader Kings 3: everyone expected the DLC Parainquisition, but oddly enough, the game didn't feel too gimped
- Project Wingman: a ghetto Ace to quench arcade-y pewpew men's needs
- Detroit Become Human: I never thought I'd put a Davecage gamovie among the decent ones, but here we are
- Doom Eternal and RE3make: for being both underwhelming and enjoyable in equal measure
