Buncha cmd.exe pop ups when I remote into it to see why my shit wasn't popping up on plex. Couldn't exit them. Task manager wouldn't open. Logged off. Logged back in and lol.
Info.txt and info.exe on desktop. And in every drive.
Info.txt was just instructions. Pay us bitcoin and don't attempt shit.
Then ran defender again to see if it missed anything and nope. Then a bunch of fancy pop ups pretty much regurgitating the info.txt file.
About to turn it back on to fully wipe it again.
Thank goodness 1drive backed up all my pics from my phone and I never linked it to the pc. Lol. All those babby pics.

Well... at least this gave me the kick in the ass needed to back up my important shit to an "offline" drive. Last one is from 2016
Also, might be a good idea to list all the drives to some txt or excel or some shit, in order to have a list of recoverable stuff by DL'ing it again

why on earth would u have all drives always on anyway .... sucha waste of their life and power, but sorry u got hit, a clearer idea how u got infected would be appreciated, sounds like its nasty and a lost cause once hit
and is your windows defender turned off?? how would it have executed itself with admin perms ??

These sometimes stay inactive for months so that you have a harder time to backup to a point where you weren't infected.
Might not have been anything you've done recently to get yourself fucked.

Its all gone.
Everything was encrypted and renamed and keyed.
There's no way to recover any of that shite. And I ain't paying to recover piracy. Work stuff is backed up on several drives. Thank God they weren't plugged in lol.
Its just gonna be a couple weeks of redownloading shit
But thats aok. Could have been worse.
Windows reinstalled.
Downloaded some shows already.
Steam and civ6 for the wife.
Remote desktop running.
Got like 3 anti-virus shit running lol until I get a backup drive.\o/

I may be naive but how can these things wipe NAS drives, unless you are logged in permanently on your PC? (which I'm not to mine), I only really use mine on my Firestick, go on the PC to upload stuff, for maintenance etc.
Acronis backup is the way to go.
