Yeah it's pretty simple to achieve on subsequent playthroughs, since you can beeline all the appropriate locations. There are also a couple of choices for your first additional companion depending on which way you choose to go (plus a potential achievement, if that sort of thing is your cup of tea).

I was abit suprised when the game changed direction (kind of) into a strategy game. That was actually pretty damn cool

I didn't run out of time by trying to do objectives, I just forgot about it while exploring. Then I saw '23 days left' next to an objective and rushed to do it all Laughing And without a cleric, healing/resting ate up most of the time.

Lucky you! I had to restart to get by the timed one. Cos I was playing it with a mate (we played it simultaniously over discord) when he said "whats that about..the thing that says you have 1 day 13h left to finish?"
Both of us was so into exploring that we had totally forgotten about the time Razz there was no way in hell we would be fast enough. So we both decided to restart. And this time we did it really fast.

Incidentally if you're ever worried about not having time to explore, you get absolutely buckets of time later on. So don't be too concerned with not being able to get too much kingdom stuff done early on cos of time limits.

One of the chapters takes about a year of game time to roll over. You can get a lot of stuff done in that time.

On the topic of trying it on two PCs, another thing that doesn't work is cloud saves. I had to set up synctoy so that I can play it on each. Seems like a long-standing issue:

Edit: If I enable vsync, it goes over 90. Weird!


My guess would be yet another unity engine bug. I've seen similar issues on other unity games.

Yeah it's easy to sink 150+ hours into it, depending on how much time you spend doing side quests and other stuff. It does start to drag a bit towards the latter half on subsequent playthroughs though. I'm kind of glad they have apparently tightened things up a bit for Wrath of the Righteous, especially since that seems like you'll need half a dozen playthroughs to see all the Mythic stuff.

You can put a mercenary in any position. You won't get the same CYOA dilemmas that the named NPCs get, but it's better than leaving the position vacant. And since your first choice for the position is literally the worst possible option in the game, you're not losing much.

Go speak to Anoriel Eight Eyes in the tavern or at Oleg's. The cost scales with the main character's current level (since they are hired at the same level), so it can get pretty pricey late in the game. It's always worth hiring one or two early on to have on hand for emergencies.

And no, they didn't really account for it, not very well anyway. Making mercs usable was the bandaid solution. At launch a lot of people that made the same (obvious) choice you did got screwed over.

It's also missing on something that isn't exactly that well designed and it turns into a chore. Laughing

You can continue the game without your councilor. Unless you kill the character, you'll be able to recruit him once again. If I remember correctly, to lose the game during a kingdom crisis, all your stats must drop below a threshold.

There is mod, Bag of Tricks? You can change price of mercenaries. When you will spec merc for position (main stat.) and buy some good item to increase that stats they are passable.
