I actually dig this season, it's not the Fargo I was expecting but it's not bad in my opinion. High production values and some great dialogues.

Getting a bit tired of Genny's shitty acting tbh |
Completely agree with you. There's some real over-acting there and it just looks ridicules.

I enjoyed the first two eps, they were OK. No idea why it is called Fargo though. What changed after the last season? The whole crew?

Yep pretty disappointing so far. Lots of good actors playing poorly written and developed characters.
Previous seasons all established the standout characters early on. D.S was probably one of the more interesting character and his arc has ended very anti-climatically.

This S04 definitely is difficult to swallow for me as well, it feels like it managed to sneak into the Fargo universe without meeting any of the requisites for the job. A filthy imposter
Very few characters come across as genuine and the various bizarre situations (Fargo's trademark) are light on pathos, with little sense of involvement or tension. Savastano's psychopear is especially annoying, but the other faux Boopians and bland gangsters with their motives don't really make things any better. I honestly don't care about anyone in the show thus far, which is a first for the series.

I guess it's the nature of an anthology show that eventually you're going to have a flop. Still it's disappointing with Fargo as they've generally pulled things off so well up till now.

4 eps in and all the bad vibes from ep1 are confirmed. Abysmal writing and character development (for Fargo Standards).
Chris Rock is sooo bad of a cast, even the grey fake eyebrows annoy me

Wow
Ninth episode was great ! A bit of a 'the shining' feel to it with all the weird guests in the hotel.
& Stunning cinematography

Worst season by far. The last 3 eps were ok but not enough for Fargo, nothing to salvage or look for by that time.
Spoiler: | The post credits link to the previous season was the best part, Mike a true Fargo character. |

Watched the first 5 episodes of season 4, it's ok but by far the least favourite season for me. I was surprised that both leading actors from Gomorra and Suburra are playing in this, thought they were local Italian actors, never seen them in anything besides Gomorra and Suburra.
It's still nice show but doesn't feel Fargo tbh.

Season 3 is my favorite which i've seen 3 times, but S1-S2 is good too, probably watched those 2 or even 3 times as well.
Fargo should have some dark comedy, just like the movie... looking forward to the new season, looks good imo, but impossible to tell from a trailer how good it will be of course.
Fargo S4 i skipped completely. Seemed shit.

the dark athmosphere, tension, movie score, all of that throwed out the window after season 2ish in favor for just weird light dialogue/moments in that fargo accent
the first season aired at same time as true detective s1, both of them didnt managed to make a season that was better than the first.
i was hoping them going back to roots after this long hiatus and poor ratings but i see they havent learn

No idea about S4, but S1-3 were super solid, just as good or better than S1 imo. S1 writing is probably the best of the bunch, but when it comes to characters the other seasons has more of them and all of them are really, really good. S3 is my favorite because of this. I do tend to favor this over almost anything though, it's why Sopranos is my favorite TV show of all time, i bet that show has like 30+ good and really interesting characters. Many shows has less than 5 even decent ones.
Score, maybe better in S1, can't really remember right now.
Though it has become a rather big thing for Hollywood overall that they're supposed to put their "own spin" on things, that's terrible and i hope it will stop.
True Detective went off a cliff after S1, not so for Fargo imo.

the accent they have is Swedish/norwegian btw.. Many swedes and norwegians came there, they even have swedish speaking people there, though not many.
bet its one of the reasons they cast Peter Stormare for the movie.
