Well I said next week the LATEST because 1) According to ebgames.com and gamestop.com it still hasn't shipped and 2) if it doesn't come out by the end of next week it could have Starforce 3.

Ah ok. Didn't know that. Yeah it's probably not in stores yet. Like I said ebgames.com still says shipping 9/8 and gamestop.com says shipping 9/9.

I'm looking for my next game to play till Fable comes out. I'm playing a turn based game and 2 RPGs to pass the time but I don't play them much.

Well at ebgames it says now that it's shipping. Gamestop though says 9/10. I say Monday the latest probably. If it's in stores tomorrow that it should be on the net tomorrow/saturday.

And i'm sure there won't be button mapping for actual pads etc... I remember back then the "Button #" shit with DINPUT.
Unless there's a fan out there who did something similar to the MGS2S GOG port?

Keep in mind just like MGS2 the pc port of SH4 was really shit back then so unless they have all the fan fixes applied avoid this.

I really doubt they did if you really mean it.. Look at XIII !. Same game but then the fan patches have to be applied manually to work as it should.
...Now what are those fan fixes about?. Graphics?, controller mapping or config?

Pretty much all of them since the original port was that bad
There were quite a few methods/patches, including the trusty ThirteenAG's one that added widescreen support and fixed the wonky framerate. You get the full list here: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Silent_Hill_4:_The_Room#Essential_improvements
Apparently, the new release does support widescreen out of the box and has the post-processing effects restored as well as proper cutscenes, so it's something I guess.

If ya try to ALT+TAB , even if the game's resolution is at 1080p, the system will freeze and you'll be forced to reboot from the tower...And might cause the system booting to enter repair mode etc...Careful!
