Been in the making for a while now. It is available for use, some people actually like bf3 and would like it to be even better, so here it is. Anyone called bob I guess can do one.
Yeah, this indeed looks and sounds ace. Took a dedicated community to unfuck a DICE game again (even more funny after these "modding is a declining trend" and "we can not let you mod the Frostbyte engine,it is way too complex, durrr" inhouse comments)

If anything this work is a big fuck you to Dice who treat their customers as shitcrunching idiots.
What I'm worried about is that EA will shut this down quicker than quick as it might hurt their other sales.

Yeah, this is what worries me too, the EA1984 mentality and manners:
"How dares the community to improve our games. There's nothing to improve. And with modding nonetheless!"
"Shall I push the button, Mr. Wilson?"
"Do it my EAminion #496, wipe that heresy off!"[cease and desist fired]
BF3 Remaster alongside new BF game. Similar to how CoD is doing.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

BF3 was really the best BF. BF4 was basically BF3.5
And it has a commander, mi gusta!
A Commander who can tell people where to go/attack/defend, is such a big help in these games. BF1 and V didn't have one and it was always such a chicken run-fest.
BF3 is pretty much a BF2 remake. And better in any perceivable way.
BF1942 didn't age well at all. The thing that made BF1942 even back then playable, were mods, like Desert Combat, those guys then got hired to make BF2 and then fired once it was done...), and Fallen Hope.
Bf2142 I could imagine would work, but I rather have like a 2143 new version, with new maps. But keeping the huge scope that it had (some maps were extremely big, lol).

Meh.
It's a nice dream mens, but IMO you can never "go back". At least I still have (some) of the original's memories, kicking ass alongside the humpers online, those were the days

But if this is true, that would most likely mean they remaster the BF3 campaign and not the MP. Why would they release two games that would compete with each other?
Arguably more people will play BF3 remaster than the players they have now, and there is no reason to remaster a campaign that was of little interest anyway.
MW1 remaster was a completely different thing, BF's story wasn't even close.
I am fine with a CnC remaster with all its quirks, bugs and pathfinding troubles, but just remastering BF1942 or BF2 and their atrocious weapon handling etc. no thanks
honestly sniping in bf2 and bf1 games and most was the most satisfying and skill based shooting i ever did, predicting movements and experience paying off bigtime
u had to aim in front and above him to account speed and elevation and distance and predict the targets moves
My guess is a trailer for that Battlefield 3 Venice Unleashed mod mentioned in the posts at the top of this page.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.
