The world's biggest video game publisher on Monday shipped "Fight Night Round 3" to retailers with a suggested price of $39.95 for current generation PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles.
"$39 is resonating with consumers given the transition," EA spokesman Jeff Brown said. "There are indications that $39 is a solid and sustainable price point."
Video game sales have tumbled as consumers wait and save for new consoles. Game publishers for months have said that price cuts on current-generation games could be used to spur sales.
EA on January 20 lowered the price on its racing game "Need for Speed Most Wanted" to $39.95 from $49.95 as sales flagged. The price cut stabilized sales, Brown said.
"Black" is due February 28 and "The Godfather" is slated for release on March 21.

A step in the right direction. If only EA improved their attitude towards patching, balancing and competition features.

In other news, EA have gotten so filthy rich by ripping you off in the past, that they now can lower the prices, get more customers, and still earn as much.

Games are to much anyways. 30 bucks is enough for a game. look at nfl2k5 it sold for like 30 bucks and it rocked. Nhl 2k6 is 20 dollars and its good.

umm i believe "gay" is what I was talking about, and you really have to learn to respect other peoples opinions that differ from your own. What I meant was that I usually dont buy games until their in the $30 range ... $40 if they just came out and i really wanna play it but if your not like that then its fine you dont have to resort to acting like a kid and calling people gay

Gay is not a bad word It defines homosexuality and that's not a bad word either. Your point was that people who buy 50 euro games are desperate or rich, so stfu.

I smell some ment here 
Games should cost like €30 or something, if I really like a game like SoTC, I buy it no matter how much it costs thought ( reasonable price not €90  ). |
