Yeah that's fucking weird. Is there something I'm missing...
Did GMG send you an email when you tried to connect to your RU account from a different country VPN? They sent me an email, seemed like an automatic thing, wanting me to click a link to confirm that the log-in was me and that I was accessing from a different country.

Try Hola just to exhaust that option. RU VPN, get to the CC page. Disable it while quickly pressing the ESC key repeatedly to ensure the page doesn't reload. Input your details. Complete purchase.
If this doesn't work, I have no idea how to help. It shouldn't be picky about CCs, the way it is picky about Paypal because the method is supposed to be more instant, while Paypal goes through more hoops.

it did it once or twice, but not always.

I would try to use PayPal, but my PayPal e-mail is tied to my "normal" GMG account, so
|
this doesn't matter at all I think. my paypal adress is also tied to my gmg account, and yet i can use it fine with my ruski GMG.
they always say, please use the same email as your paypal email, but the order goes through fine with mismatched emails.

Yeah, I've made purchases using the same cc on a different account, but some time ago. I don't believe I've stored the card's information on the other account though, as I normally don't like to store cc info anywhere, but yes I've used it on checkout/completion prior to this.
Does GMG state that it only accepts certain cards? I don't think so.

Ok, last stupid question Neon. You did the whole registration process while connected to a RU VPN, right? As in, you hopefully didn't make a new account and -then- turned on a RU VPN. Use one of those What's My IP type websites to ensure that you are indeed masked by a RU IP.

Yeah, the whole registration thing was done under a RU vpn, all prices display in rubles now, even when I'm not connected to VPN. Checked beforehand with whatismyipaddress.com if the VPN worked, it did.

Manually input it.
Also just bought a small game on Steam, so the problem is definitely on GMG's side.

i was able to get it working with paypal in the past, last time in october, but now I can't anymore.
Everytime it says. "oops cannot compute, check your card details" or something similar. even though i can make purchases fine on other sites. bough dog food minutes after with same card over paypal.
tried several different vpn's and proxies, so it's possible they are now checking paypal adresses. and since I don't have any CC they accept, i'm screwed.
If anyone from russia can grab me rocket league for paypal in advance, please PM or reply here.
it's 6.2 bucks, and there's no rgion locked versions according to steamdb.

Does anybody know, if GMG will charge your creditcard right away for preorders? Or will they wait till some days before release?

That sucks, thanks.
Would like to preorder some games from russian GMG for cheap. But it seems, that in the past several games slowly increased in price over time.
And i don't want the hassle of asking GMG support to cancel my order and give my money back.

So I have shopped at GMG several times and I have noting to complain about.
I am just wondering, like do anyone here knows how a shop like that works? I mean they seem quite legit and they have a lot of nice offers all the time.
Just seem a bit too good to be true but it is true, at least none of the keys I ever bought got banned.
Funny how Steam and other companies lets GMG sell keys to their platforms at such low cost.

cdkeys.com is like that. Can't even remember when I bought something at GMG, their prices weren't that great any more and I jumped ship. Bought quite a few things from cdkeys over the years. Never had a problem and with pre-orders they release keys in a timely manner.
I know, no pre-order... but their best deals are on pre-orders. Paying half price.

Valve allows Steam keys to be generated for free. https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/keys
| Quote: | Steam keys are meant to be a convenient tool for game developers to sell their game on other stores and at retail. Steam keys are free and can be activated by customers on Steam to grant a license to a product.
Valve provides the same free bandwidth and services to customers activating a Steam key that it provides to customers buying a license on Steam. We ask you to treat Steam customers no worse than customers buying Steam keys outside of Steam. While there is no fee to generate keys on Steam, we ask that partners use the service judiciously. |
So a publisher generates a bunch of keys and sells them to GMG, and GMG in order to compete with Steam sells the games cheaper, passing the savings to the customer.
Every time a Steam game is sold on GMG and other stores Valve gets a 0% cut. But Timmy has convinced simple minded and impressionable people that his 12% cut is revolutionary.
