Ixi did you play the missions on Professional or Master difficulty the first time?
I also noticed you get a score bonus for time, is it possible to still get SA rating if everything is perfect but the time it takes is very long? |
Indeed, not being able to peek through keyholes sadly is one of the most inexcusable missing features here. I went with Professional the first time, it's forgiving when it comes to saves (unlike Master which allows only one per mission) but still satisfying, without the extra cameras and guards which are more suitable to a second playthrough. There are so many different opportunities and ways to kill objectives that multiple runs are a must anyway. I don't know about ratings since I played it offline caveman_mode

The time only contributes to your bonus score. I don't own the full HM2 but have part 1 so I have been doing all the classic Elusive Targets when they are running in HM2 and I just recently found out about the little green gun icon display that shows if you are going to get Silent Assassin that they added some patches back while I was doing the last classic elusive target as the previous one for me glitched a bit and did not give me SA rating but had I known about that SA indicator (which was off by default for me) I would have known my game glitched and been able to alt F4 and redo the mission to keep my SA rating for it. So that might be something to keep in mind if you want to make sure you are still in line to get a SA rating in your mission.

Game is really great, played for two days straight and still experimenting around in Paris.
Master difficulty sucks, it is unrealistically hard (way too many guards and cameras, items missing). It's only good for doing challenging SA runs, regular experimenting and discovery should be done exclusively on Professional difficulty.
I read Sapienza is much bigger, man this game is going to take a long time to beat.
Are there more maps upcoming for Hitman 2 or was the Resort the last full stage for Season 2?

I don't think its the last one the story is not finished yet.
Season 2 has some really cool locations, but fore some reason i don't have that urge to complete all challenges like in Season 1. Just went yolo mode to see the story.
Probably the fact that you can't transfer Season 1 progress into this helped.

I just tested the Miami (S2) briefing and I can use all the equipment I earned while mastering Paris
If there's a season 3 I hope all the progress from previous seasons transfers this time.

The gold edition was released last October. All in all you have the 7 new maps in H2+ the 7 from H1, and the bonus campaign.

They are also almost done repeating all the Elusive Targets in Hitman 2 as they finished the run of all the first games encores in Hitman 2 earlier this year. The idea of the Elusive Targets is nice but the execution is just dumb at the end of the games life cycle as they should just allow them to be repeated at will at that point just to give the game a little more options of things to do.

only need to play the new maps, elusive targets and challenges i dont care. i think the game was more hyped when it was episodic
whats nice is that if you find a rip you could only get the bonus missions and it works, 60gb vs 150gb. 2 maps and 3 sniper missions

Looks like the sequel ended up on EGS.

The PC version of IO's assassination game launches on the Epic Games Store exclusively in January 2021. It's also due out then on PlayStation 5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and Google Stadia.
|
EDIT: Hmm self published going by Reset Era comments and quotes.

"Self-publishing Hitman 3 is a big step for IO Interactive in achieving our highly ambitious goals as an independent studio," explained IO boss Hakan Abrak.

That might explain it a bit more, WB dropped it?

Hitman 2 sold plenty.
They are doing the same thing as Remedy Entertainment did with Control, grabbing all the money they can get. Exclusive PS VR, exclusive to Stadia and EGS on PC. We only have to see whose paying for graphics advertisement.
How dare you don't support such developers?

Yep, that's simply ridiculous. Oh well, I'll just keep doing what I've always done, wearing the eyepatch and overriding their online bullshittery ghetto style.
I swear we had a thread for HITMAN 3 but somehow it doesn't show up anymore..
Edit:
Found it in my history, let's see if the Humpian Cthulhu keeps it alive this time:

They probably do with Fornite.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

From 8 billion some years back to 17 billion I think the company valuation was at or how it's called, no idea what their attempts at pushing Apple around is going to do though besides not work in regards to investor interests but Tim himself and existing deals plus profits from not just Unreal the Engine but also Fortnite might keep things stable even if they hit problems with Apple and possibly other parties not too fond of what they're trying to provoke.
EDIT: Doubt there's figures for what they have set aside for acquisitions for the Epic Games Store at least for public figures or data of that nature though but it's probably a fair bit if they are aiming for fewer but more valuable partnerships or individual title deals plus this development deal with various involved parties and how that will end up.
I expect them to be able to spend a lot but as seen with some deals being very short it's clear they have some limits though it probably works out for them as a acceptable loss.
(Generating interest and numbers to show for the store and all that even if user activity and actual sales might be low aside from freebies.)
EDIT: Come to think of it as a self published title who would IO blame when it does come out on Steam and the south American regional pricing ends up being "corrected" which is otherwise pushed as a publisher incentive or Steam error. (For like these few countries, constantly. Uh huh.)
